Bangladesh Navy detained 26 Indian fishermen, and seized two fishing trawlers that were fishing illegally inside Bangladeshi maritime boundary in Bagerhat.
A team of navy arrested 26 Indian fishermen and seized two fishing trawlers –FB Shongkho Pradeep and Maa Mangal– from the Bay of Bengal on Saturday evening , said Md Ahad, Sub Inspector(SI) of Mongla police station. The identities of the detained are yet to be confirmed.
A case was filed against them under the Maritime Zones Act and they will be sent to Bagerhat jail on Sunday morning, he added.
