26/11 Mumbai = 6/12 Kabul?

On 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the Pakistan based group LeT was accused of being responsible for those attacks. On 6/12 Kabul, the Taliban have denied responsibility for the attacks, & the Pakistan based group LeJ has accepted responsibility for the attacks. What we can sure about is that Pakistan will be put under pressure for today's events in Kabul, as the US media is doing right now.

The LeJ is a Punjab based Jihadi group that has been aiding AQ & TTP terrorists in the FATA, as well as aiding sectarian violence in parts of Balochistan, & else where in the country. The LeJ has its strongholds in Punjab, & plays second fiddle elsewhere in the country, working as an umbrella group for other militant groups. They have not had any presence in Afghanistan, & it is not clear how they could have been responsible for such coordinated attacks deep inside Afghan territory in Kabul & Mazar-e-Sharif (in Western Afghanistan close to the Uzbek border). It is unrealistic that the LeJ, which has no presence in Afghanistan, could have be responsible for such coordinated attacks deep inside Afghan territory.

My guess would be no.

Karzai: Blackwater behind terrorism

At a press conference in Kabul, Karzai said that US security companies have been behind explosions that have claimed the lives of women and children.

The Afghan president added that they have caused "blasts and terrorism" in different parts of Afghanistan over the past months.

The Afghan president said his administration cannot even distinguish between the bomb blasts carried out by US security firms and those of the Taliban militants.

"In fact we don't yet know how many of these blasts are by Taliban and how many are carried out by them (US security companies)."

Blackwater has been involved in the murder of several Afghan citizens over the past years. The company has also been struggling with a trail of legal cases and civil lawsuits, including one for killing 17 Iraqi civilians during a Baghdad shootout in 2007.

Earlier in June, the CIA reportedly admitted that Blackwater had been loading bombs on US drones that target suspected militants in neighboring Pakistan.

The Afghan president has also pointed out that American private security firms are corrupt and have fueled nine years of war.

"Deals under the name of private security companies are cut in the hallways of American government buildings. It involves 1.5 billion dollars," he said.

Karzai has accused security companies of running what he called an economic mafia based on crooked contracts.

"The money, 1.5 billion dollars, is being distributed there (in the United States) on Blackwater [sic] and this and that."

The developments come as the notorious Blackwater has been awarded a five-year State Department contract worth up to USD 10 billion for operations in Afghanistan.

In August, Karzai ordered all security firms to disband before the end of the year.

Some diplomats and military officials say Karzai has been under intense pressure to reconsider his decision.

However, Karzai says he is steadfast in his decision to dissolve foreign security firms in the country despite US pressure to reconsider the decision.

The private companies are said to be in charge of providing security for foreign officials and embassies as well as development projects in Afghanistan.

Karzai has blamed mercenaries for civilian deaths and corruption in the troubled region.

PressTV - Karzai: Blackwater behind terrorism

Afghan President Hamid Karzai has said US private security firms, including Xe Services LLC, formerly known as Blackwater, are being behind terrorism in the country.

At a press conference in Kabul, Karzai said that US security companies have been behind explosions that have claimed the lives of women and children.

In this Press TV's report, Karzai's press conference is presented.

yeah exactly. First of all this i impossible but let us suppose Cia once in there lifetime is speaking truth then it is the failure of CIA and other intelligence agencies in Afghanistan .

May the souls rest in peace and May Allah (S.W.T) give strength to their families.

Its all Pakistan's fault ( That's what the Media will say ) then who is killing Shia in Iraq ? or in protest in Qatar -
Its all Saudi Arab and Iran fault they fund Shia and Sunni all over the world with their oil money , Pakistan is also a victim of their money fueling hate.
Lebanon and Palestines are also divided in Shai Sunni , So don't blame Pakistan for this globe hate.

It is not possible for a Punjab based group to conduct such coordinated attacks deep inside Afghan territory.

One is left to wonder if this attack was retaliation by ISI for the airstrike on Pak Military

Nah, because in that situation, the LeJ wouldn't be claiming responsibility for the attacks, as it puts Pakistan in a disadvantaged position.

It is not possible for a Punjab based group to conduct such coordinated attacks deep inside Afghan territory.

It has been claimed by Lashkar-e-Jhangvi al Almi, aparently a faction of LeJ and they operate from tribal areas of Pakistan, not Punjab.

A spokesman for an obscure Pakistani extremist group called Lashkar-e-Jhangvi al Almi claimed responsibility in a phone call to Radio Mashaal – a Pashto language radio station.

Lashkar-e-Jhangvi al Almi is a small faction based in Pakistan's tribal area and is considered an even more radical offshoot of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, (LeJ), a murderous anti-Shia group founded in 1996. Both groups act as surrogates for al-Qaida.

Even if it based in Pakistan's tribal areas, it is not possible for them to conduct such coordinated attacks deep inside Afghan territory without getting caught, scattered from Eastern Afghanistan, Northern Afghanistan & Southern Afghanistan, simultaneously. It would be difficult for even the Taliban to pull this off. And even if the LeJ al Almi has a presence in Afghanistan, it plays second fiddle to the Al-Qaeda there, meaning it is more likely for the Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan to pull this off than LeJ al Almi.

There are no apologists for the LeJ, they have been active in aiding & supporting Al-Qaeda & the TTP, not in Afghanistan, but in Pakistan.

Yes you are offering apologies, read your below post, purely conjectural, but offers certificate of innocence to your boys! What next, not possible for Ajmal Kasab from deep punjab to have participated in coordinated mumbai attacks? I've already posted admission from your then interior minister that these orgs are linked to AQ and operate in Afghanistan. No amount of offering apologies will change that.

Yar what is it anyone can call and claim the responsibility .Y do they always call americans to tell them that they did it.

WHATS THE point in doing that................or all of this crap comes out of America to fulfill there needs.

First it was Haqqani network and now it is LEJ network (which is mostly dismentled ) and next will be it will be some other one .

American have fooled the world a million times and they are going to do it this time as well. But we give a hoot .They are trying to subdue Pakistani pressure on them after Nato Attack.

According to SATP LeJ has/had some presence in Afghanistan.

Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Terrorist Group of Pakistan

Instead of quoting wikipedia, could you maybe quote me a few news reports from reliable sources that show LeJ has an active presence in Afghanistan, & that they were responsible for terrorism inside Afghanistan before today? I've never heard of the LeJ having a presence in Afghanistan, only in FATA.

There is a difference between the 26/11 Mumbai attacks & the attacks today. Today, three coordinated attacks took place in Northern Afghanistan, Southern Afghanistan & Eastern Afghanistan simultaneously, & it is not possible that the LeJ could have done this without getting detected in Afghanistan. It would have been difficult for even the Taliban to pull this off.
