Wonder why ISI is warn the govt about India consulate creating problem in NWFP and pumping money and setup listening post along Pak-Afgan border.And Mushi also warned India to stop aiding separatist elements in Baluchistan and NWFP. Well if NATO is so concern about the stability of Afganistan, then they need to leash Indian spies. Otherwise its tit for tat and no peace in Afganistan and Kashmir.

Nothing is sophisticated more than what any Army has.

The Indian Army has the same sophistication as the Pakistani Army.

I think the term "sophisticated" specifically applies to their communications gear. Pretty high tech and advanced, freq. hopping gear is available in the open market which can be used by these outfits to carry out their operations in a coordinated manner against the military.

IED is nothing compared to artillery.

I wonder how militants can have artillery.

The militants have mortars that they have been using against the Army. All this stuff, Mortars, HMGs etc. are locally manufactured in Darra etc. Yesterday there were a couple of casualties because of the mortar fire received on a camp.

One must understand that even the discovery of Indian currency could be a plant for the gullible and Jumping Jacks. Indian currency is of no use either in Swat or in Pakistan or in Afghanistan. Only a fool would add useless weight on himself and terrorists have to be light in weight to be effective. If it would Dollars then it could have been convertible and useful currency!

One must analyse and not be 'guided' into believing what one wants one to believe and react and add to the confusion already prevailing and think that the Musharraf govt has failed on all fronts!

swat is imbroiled in a war-like situation which demands war-like conditions like curfew etc.
what i have heard is that this is a local uprising supported by foreigners of arab, uzbek and afghan decent. where indian influence comes in i have not heard anything so far. i would lay the blame on the uzbek factions in the afghan govt.

In today's context, even frequency hopping is not sophisticated. I have personally seen such sets recovered from the foreign terrorists in Kashmir. Ideal for activating IEDs and escape detection by Jammers. Today's terrorists are not the rag tag types any more. So, let it not be taken that they are a bunch of fools. They are well trained and capable of whatever they want to do and do it will telling effect. They have to be defeated.

Yes, Mortars, AGL, Carl Gustaf, RPG 7s, GPMGs and such like systems are easily available and can be used. Artillery has not been heard so far.

I find it very amusing the many feel that terrorist can be wiped out as if they are a bad dream!

If only they had practical experience of battling these people. would they realise what a Herculean task it is.

Of course it is alarming if they terrorist take charge of an area, but one should not make a mountain of a molehill and then expect that it will be cleared even before one can say, Jack Robinson or Iqbal Ahmed!

Patience and faith in one's army and govt should never be lost.
