The shalwar kameez in India is widely adopted because its convenient and quick. And without being too crude about it, its possible to leg split in it, unlike the sari.

Actually their North Indian population do wear shalwar kamezz both males and females since a long time. But yes they dont have a class of Pakistani shalwar kameez. We here i guess are more richer and lavish then them.
