Instead of judging how much money we are spending on police specially on there competence ,I say give them equal salary to there counter parts in other services like Army and then we can judge them ,They dont have any DHA `s or Army schools for there children and they are dealing 24 hrs with hidden enemies as well as public interaction

DHA and Army welfare comes from deduction from their respective salaries ... which is a sustained system

and As par with normal soldier Police constable is earning equal or more if not less ...

FYI, what happened in Turkey that night was hardly a coup attempt. It was more of a organized nationwide terrorist attack. Turkey had many coups in past, everyone knows the outcome if it was an actual coup attempt.
Responding your post my friend, it was not the power of law enforcement that stopped military takeover. It was the combination of patriotism shown by Turkish Armed Forces, Gendarmerie, National Police and Turkish Nation.

A soldier is getting around 20-22 K and than came some deductions as well .... the benefit that a soldier gets over police constable is armed forces facilities ...
