22 firms submit bids for Sector E-12 development
Technical bids to be evaluated by a committee headed by works department chief
July 20, 2020
ISLAMABAD: As many as 22 firms have submitted bids for carrying out development work in two sub-sectors of Sector E-12 in the federal capital.
An official at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Sunday said that the civic authority had decided to restart work on stalled residential sectors, such as E-12.
Even though it had been launched several years ago, the authority had failed to develop it. But now, the official said, CDA had opened technical bids for starting work in the sector to develop the road infrastructure, water supply system, sewerage system and other civic amenities.
In this regard, the official said that the authority had last month separately invited bids under the single-stage, two envelope procedure from the firms to carry out development works in sub-sector E-12/2 and E-12/3.
In response, the CDA received bids from 12 firms for works in Sector E-12/3, while 10 firms submitted bids for development works in Sector E-12/2.
These technical bids will be first evaluated by a committee, which will be headed by the Works director-general. Once the firms have technically qualified, their financial bids will be opened and work will be awarded to the lowest bidder.
The official added that development work in the two sub-sectors will be carried out simultaneously by different firms. Meanwhile, construction work on service road (north) is being carried out at a rapid pace. The construction of the service road is expected to be completed at a cost of Rs97.107 million.
Moreover, the CDA’s development working party (DWP) has already approved a project concept-I (PC-I) worth Rs6.63 billion for developing the entire Sector E-12.
