So is Hu Chunhua.

But Ding's current resume is much more impressive. He is the boss of central secretary unit. This party organ produce some of the most powerful figures including Ling Jihua.

This position one of key nodes to serve as training ground for crown prince.

Likely Ding will succeed Xi if Xi dont goes for 4th term.

The standard node of the successor is the President of the CCP Central Party School.

Mao Zedong (1942 to 1949), Hua Guofeng (1977 to 1982), Hu Jingtao (1993 to 2002), and Xi Jinping (2007 to 2013) all served as principals before taking over the post of CCP General Secretary.

The school is one of the nodes but it is not activated past 10 years for succession grooming.

Being the president of the Central Party School means that many senior CCP officials in the future are his students. This is the same as Chiang Kai shek's role as the president of the Whampoa Military Academy.

The promotion rules of the Communist Party of China require that the successor of the top leader first serve as the president of the party school, which is to ensure that each successor has real power and talent pool within the party. That would avoid the emergence of a puppet style supreme leader.

If one of the members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau is the President of the Party School, it means that Xi's successor has been determined. If not, it means that the competition is still not over. Before Xi's term of office ends, there will be a winner who will also serve as the president of the Party School.

He can only stay in power for another five years.

There are already reliable sources in China to prove that his successor has become a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau.

This means that the shift will be handed over after 5 years.
Not a man from the politburo?
I am sceptical. power is sexy, Xi may want to copy the nationalist Putin, who stays in power for another 12y. or longer.

Ding doesnt have frontline provinces secretary or governor experience in charge of hundred of million population, he serves more like high central officials all the time. All the leaders since Deng have served as a provincial secretary.

China and Russia have different power structures. For example, the Russian army is directly responsible to the President. The PLA is only responsible for the Central Military Commission appointed by the CPC Central Committee. If Xi Jinping loses the majority support of the CPC Central Committee, he will immediately lose all rights.
I don't think the CPC Central Committee will allow Xi Jinping to break the Constitution or extend retirement time again.

Yes. In fact, the Chinese government has always had a political tradition of "不历州县不拟台省". This tradition has even been passed down for thousands of years.

The CCP requires that the top leader must have the resume of serving as the secretary of at least two provincial Party committees.

In fact, only Hu Chunhua meets this standard. Ding Xuexiang is likely to be the first deputy prime minister and the future prime minister.

Ok I have to agree somehow you guys got the point. Likely Hu Chunhua will be top boss. Lets see.

Anyone have a quick biography on Hu?

Hu Chunhua is well known within the CCP for her expertise in handling ethnic minority relations and developing the economy.

In 1983, Hu Chunhua graduated from Peking University as president of the Student Union of Peking University. At that time, he refused many job invitations from the central authorities and chose to work in the poorest and most dangerous Tibet. This made him have a high reputation and evaluation in the CPC Central Committee when he was very young.

Hu Chunhua has worked in Tibet for 23 years. He has been promoted from the lowest level herdsman propagandist and newspaper reporter to the secretary of the Tibetan Party Committee. During his tenure, the CCP completely eliminated the remaining separatist forces of the Dalai Lama in Tibet. And let the Tibetan people's support rate for the government reach the peak. Later, he was transferred to Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region as the secretary of the provincial party committee. During his tenure, he perfectly calmed the contradiction between Mongolian herdsmen and mining companies, and made the economy of Inner Mongolia grow rapidly.

He also served as the secretary of the provincial Party committees of Hebei Province and Guangdong Province, and made outstanding achievements in the field of economic development. Later, he served as Vice Premier of the State Council.

If they elect Ding, its out of the common practice, but it cant be said never since norms can be broken at times. His handicap is he lacks the real frontline experience managing provinces of large populations, the often necessary step stone to managing the whole country population.

In fact, if Hu Chunhua and Ding Xuexiang have made mistakes in these five years, their substitutes should be Chen Min'er. Although Chen Min'er is not as good as Hu Chunhua and Ding Xuexiang, he did once serve as the secretary of the provincial Party committee of two provinces. His resume can also serve as Deputy Prime Minister.

So he has knowledge in Tibet, Inner Mongolia and Guandong, all critical areas of China.
I approve.

The one thing with Chen is his appearance doesnt look good like a leader should look like commonly, just like some say that Deng was prevented from becoming the front face premier or chairman of the party becos he was too short in appearance.

When Chen Miner was the minister of the Propaganda Department of Zhejiang Province, Xi Jinping was the secretary of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee.

When Chen Miner studied at the Central Party School, Xi Jinping was the president of the Central Party School.

He was a strong supporter of Xi Jinping when he was the secretary of Guizhou Provincial Party Committee.

When Sun Zhengcai fell, Xi Jinping appointed him as the Secretary of Chongqing Municipal Party Committee to deal with the aftermath.

He is too close to Xi Jinping. If he becomes the successor, it means that Xi Jinping's right continues.
