F-16/F-18 wont be acquired Indian economy is already taking hit no new fighters will be added more Rafales likely as Indian deal with france is not inflation linked.

F-16 or F-18 or any other fighters are not coming and no Indian economy can not sustain added acquisitions most of Indian budget goes in military upkeep only portion of it goes to induct new systems.

F-18 is not cheap and India can not afford multiple platforms at once specially when Rafale and Tejas needs billions of dollars, specially for incremental development of Tejas to Mk1a and MK2,
Indian Navy I have not included but F-18 might be inducted for Navy's 57 planes off the shelf although the 57 number will most likely be reduced to 40 odd.

Considering Tejas as fighters?

Tejas with american engine and israeli aesa and israeli and french avionics and BVR/WVR missiles
with small RCS will be a potent fighter but of course not cheap.

I have put timeline after 2025 when stealth planes will be a common sight in every part of world, thr will be F-35s flying in almost every Euro Air Force and many east asian nations Japan, SK, Singapore likely and Australia in middle east and Chinese will capture market in south america and asia specially Pakistan, Russians will be struggling to sell a heavy Su-57 but might grab few nations, India will unlikely go for any more Russians planes, so in that time line everybody will be selling 5th gen to anyone who can pay or is strategic ally

Sir only one point requires some checking as in 2030 Pak may induct few of it's own 5+ gen Jets instead of J31. Similarly as Tempest is also coming so India may Induct AMCA or Tempest and much earlier than 2030.

again neither India or Pakistan is capable to build its own fifth generation fighter unless they master jet engine so AMCA and AZM will remain a pipe-dream also no Tempest is coming to India. Most likely Pakistan will get JF-31 with some assembly after JF-17 is made silent and India will most likely get either F-35 or SU-57(although IAF hates this plane considers it no match for other 5th gen.) only once PAF finalizes to get JF-31 that will justify getting american stealth.

all in all by 2025-2030 huge influx of new technology will be seen in subcontinent, with Chinese making great strides in everything and specially in military sphere PAF will likely be in huge advantage and will likely keep IAF on toes and IAF will keep eyeing american stealth planes for technological parity.
Rafale and F-16s will be reduced to second rung once more sophisticated Long range SAMs will be inducted by India Pakistan by late next decade both airforces will likely get 5th generation both couple of squadrons it will be pretty interesting times much more interesting than current era.
