there was once a debate i remember on lokpal bill in rajya sbabha..Jately gave good speech..He clearly pointed out y govt is indecisive in most matters is that it has more lawyers as minister than a politician or a leader.infact he was honest enough to count himself in that lawyer crowd.....now you can make better judgement about his leadership which he himself is doubtful about.

MMS has it - Likewise Chiddu - but we all know MMS is a better fit for a bureaucrat and is better off as a finance minister while someone else who can handle the politics at the center would be the PM(kind of like Rao). Jaitley may be untested but he has the quality.

If Maoists can be all powerful like in Cambodia or Mao himself, let them take over through the force but I don't see that happening in India. Maoists problem exists since the Naxalbari uprising but have they gained control? Even AFSPA has not been declared in those regions nor the Indian army has been called to control them.

Even after 40 years nothing has happened - compare it with other countries where Commies came to power. It did not take then that long.

India is not a homogenous country where Maoists can string together that kind of support base they can conquer the whole India.

Going by history , i will have to say there is a chance of a third front being formed with outside support of congress. i also believe that the govt will fall in 2 yrs after formation , and another congress govt will be formed.

As to people who believe the namo will become PM , they are living in a fools paradise. let me elaborate.
The BJP cannot get a majority by them selfs. even at their hight of power in 99 they were not able to form the govt without allies. those allies have now deserted them . and will not rejoin as they realize their electorate do not wish them to be linked to the bjp. for 23 allies which formed the NDA in 99 there are only 4 today who stand with the bjp.

the BSP,SP ,NC(their vote bank is largely Muslim) TDPwill never come back to the nda as they suffered by their past association with them . the JDU flatly refuses the candidature of namo . Modi in general dose not have the capacity or diplomacy to attract allies. that is his biggest failure. not to mention within the bjp there are his detractors.

wish what ever you want but the fact of the matter is namo has too much baggage to be widely accepted as a candidature for PM.

The core to a commi/fascist taking over power is their propaganda machine and the crown jewel of that machine is the leader's ability to inspire through speech. Hitler, Mao are excellent speakers or were controlling the propaganda machine - Mao was in fact was head of the propaganda wing of Kuomintang before forming a separate communist party.

In India, when I say homogeneous, I am talking about it from language perspective - Unless one is an excellent leader in multiple languages, you can't influence the population in India.

Moreover, the target group ripe for brainwash for these Maoists are poor population and their nos are shrinking every year and if you go by the world bank projection(and target as well), India's poor population will dwindle to less than 150 million by 2021. So who would listen to these Maoist scumbags?
