London, June 8 — Nearly 200 tonnes of dead sardines have washed up on the shore of a western port town in Japan, a British media report said.

The massive shoal started washing up in Ohara, facing the north Pacific Ocean, June 3. The bizarre phenomenon has now gone out of control, the Daily Mail reported.

The reason behind the incident has not yet been identified.

People in the town in Chiba prefecture are now carrying the rotting remains in truck to landfill sites. The huge amount of dead fish has created an unbearable smell.

Last year, millions of dead fish were found floating in a California harbour after apparently becoming trapped and dying due to lack of oxygen.

People suggested that high winds might have pushed the sardines into the marina south of Los Angeles.

@ulysses they did same thing in 2004 (tsunami).... Result we knew.... This time around they did with fish as a warning. Same thing happened in america (black birds and fish).... The attacks getting stronger day by day. America moving all around world thinking it can counter them.... Making bases around world wont save anyone....
