The Maritime Security Agency (MSA) has arrested 20 Indian fishermen and handed them over to the Docks police station for further legal action.
The MSA said the fishermen were held for fishing illegally in Pakistans territorial waters around 50 kilometres inside the countrys Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Fourteen boats were also seized.
The Indian fishermen have been warned time and again not to indulge in illegal fishing but they repeatedly come inside our EEZ to explore benefits of rich fish resources at the mouth of Indus Delta, the MSA said. The police have lodged an FIR against the fishermen.
