The Maritime Security Agency (MSA) has arrested 20 Indian fishermen and handed them over to the Docks police station for further legal action.

The MSA said the fishermen were held for fishing illegally in Pakistan’s territorial waters around 50 kilometres inside the country’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Fourteen boats were also seized.

“The Indian fishermen have been warned time and again not to indulge in illegal fishing but they repeatedly come inside our EEZ to explore benefits of rich fish resources at the mouth of Indus Delta,” the MSA said. The police have lodged an FIR against the fishermen.

Both countries are full of illegal immigrants but I don't understand why they are so keen to arrest every poor fisherman who unintenionally enters into the territorial waters of other country. These poor fishermen definitely lack those euqipments required to locate their current position at sea. Not only that they immediately arrest them, but sometimes put them behind bars for many years. Just warn them and let them go back.

I mean how much fish can these guys take illegally?....i assume these are wooden boats and not the modern fishing vessels.
