It pains me that PLA treated Indian POWs better than their own soldiers.

CHina comes across as civilized country . Trying to balance its territorial integrity and show a desire as peace loving nation. it offered peace from a position of strength. ANd retreated voluntarily and gave up spoils of war. Does India have any such feelings on kashmir despite a promise to UN.

Exactly ... one of the PLA veterans even said if it were up to him and his comrades, they would rather just shoot the Indian POWs. The Indians are always ungrateful of concessions others give to them, in this case the Chinese treating the captured extremely well.

india don't accept that their soldiers surrendered in 62 but i have seen them surrendering. china is very powerful country but india lives in their own world,their own imagination.

I can even taste the anguish of those PLA soldiers when they were ordered to retreat back to 1959-line, and leave the land that that they fought so hard to liberate.

The Chinese peace gesture of unilateral retreat has never been appreciated by Indians. After the war, they creep all the way back in the land that Chinese left as a buffer zone. Now Chinese have to swat them again. 畏威而不怀德， that's the way they are.

I hope Xi won't make the same mistake as Mao did.
