BARA: The Afghan Taliban are alleged to have kidnapped 17 tourists from Inzaro Nao tourist spot in the Adilkhad hills, Landikotal tehsil of Khyber Agency, that shares border with Afghanistan, officials and tribal sources said on Tuesday.

The sources said 17 local people, mostly children, had gone to Inzaro Nao for picnic. The tourists were picnicking near a water spring when several gunmen came from Afghanistan’s side and seized them. Seventeen of the abducted tribesmen were identified as Ajmal, Kamran, Rahatullah, Wasif, Shafiullah, Abdullah, Abdul Wahid, Ayazullah, Bismillah, Abu Bakr, Hazrat Noor, Naik Noor, Ayub Khan, Muslim Shah, Zahirullah, Bashir and Ikram Saeed.

An official of the political administration told The News on condition of anonymity that 14 children and four elderly persons from the Adilkhad village in Landikotal had gone to the hilly area for picnic.

He said the youngsters were busy preparing food when several gunmen came there and took them away at gunpoint. The official said one of the kidnapped persons identified as Mehraban managed to escape while being taken to Afghanistan and reached his home in Landikotal.

Quoting the escaped person, he said the gunmen were the Afghan Taliban who took away the tourists towards Afghanistan at gunpoint. The official said that paramilitary troops, Khassadars and Levies force personnel reached the spot to hunt down the kidnappers. An attempt was made to talk to the members of the family of the kidnapped persons but nobody was ready to speak about the incident.

However, they said that security forces and political administration were using means to ensure the safe and early recovery of the abducted persons. Neither the Afghan Taliban nor any other militant group claimed responsibility for the incident.

This is state failure as they have failed to protect and fence border. Considering this news its not impossible for many of afghan taliban leaders to be anywhere in Pakistan contrary to official stance.

May be a tribal feud... not uncommon

because Peshawaris are majority Hindko
This is not the reason. Peshawar was very beautiful city, when Afghan war started , these Afghan brought in there dumpers with TRP plates . Drive like crazy , sitting in the park all days , chewing Gana and Gandarian. Robbing, stealing brought drug money , confront police etc etc .... imagine a wild animal in the city ..

Out of all places they could go for picknick they went to ISIS central. They could have only done bit more to faciliate their decapitation by walking into WAHHABI ISIS execution centre and said here we are. There was nothing more dangerous then it but one below level they tried and now their execution video will pop up anytime. Ofcourse with, Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Chants and sign boards Islam is peace in the background.

I don't understand why they don't make guns illegal in Pakistan. Anyone in possession of a gun licensed or unlicensed should be told to had it over buddy until that date. Then they should make LAW anyone reports x owns a gun. The reportee will get the guns value in money as reward. And also make LAW to faciliate shoot on sight of anyone with gun. No quater should be given. Armed police, if the person resists arrest, shoot him dead. Instead of allowing people to own a gun, shooting ranges should be opened where people can go and rent a gun for hour or two and shoot at targets. popularise gun supports like paintball, other stuff the busy the public. Or else, give every Pakistani a gun and make a law, if x points gun at y, y has the right to shoot x dead. And if it is established with evidence that x threatned y by pointing gun at y and out of fear of life he shot x dead, then he should be cool as ice cube and allowed to go free.

The primary native languages spoken in Peshawar are Pashto and Hindko,[79] though English is used in the city's educational institutions,[80] while Urdu is almost universally understood throughout the city,[80] and was introduced as the language of Peshawar's courts in 1851.[81] While Pashto is used as a language of instruction in the province's public schools, enrollment in Pashto-medium schools has decreased as parental influences have resulted in the popularity Urdu and English-medium schools.[81]

The district of Peshawar is overwhelmingly Pashto-speaking, though the Hindko-speaking minority is concentrated in Peshawar's old city,[82] where they predominate. Hindko speakers have historically inhabited Peshawar's old city, and their community is referred to as Shehrī, or "city dwelling." Hindko speakers in Peshawar increasingly assimilate elements of Pashto and Urdu into their speech.[83] Pashto is widely understood by Hindko speakers,[81] and was confined to Peshawar's suburbs and surrounding region.[80] Peshawar's linguistic pattern differs from most South Asian cities, where the predominant language in those cities is the same language as in surrounding regions.[80]
