As per official definition of battle casualties deaths in accidents and natural disasters in operational areas like North East India and J&K are incl in Battle casualties.
-Death due to accident in course of duties
-Death attributable to acts of violence by terrorists etc
-Death during enemy action in war or border skirmishes or in action against militants, terrorists etc
-Death during enemy action in war or war like engagements specifically notified (Revised rates wef 01 Jan 2006)

For example out of 87 battle casualties till December 20 last year, only 48 were combat deaths whereas remaining 39 included 28 deaths in avalanche, 2 deaths in air crash and 9 deaths in road accidents.

The 342 battle casualties in 2005 includes the 80+ soldiers who died in 2005 Kashmir earthquake.

Thats really sad. Innocent people. May their souls rest in eternal peace.

I am sure this number is much bigger than that. Each year, 100+ Indian soldiers die by shooting themselves and others "brave" soldiers die of cardiac arrest when they are challenged by a threat.

You guys love to live in denial , don't you ?? Good for us .

BTW this is what Pakistan army told your parliament when asked about it's troop casualty figure on LOC .

Number of martyred troops can’t be disclosed, Senate told

Well the last and final question is, were you able to defeat Indian army? Were you able to take Kashmir from India?
It's a fact, if you think you can defeat India by just killing soldiers, always remember that for every single soldier you killed will leave a void which will be contested by 1000 more....
Keep trying... forever
