16 people on things they couldn't believe about America until they moved here

Haha. That is only part of the torture. The real headache is how you turn into an outsider when the office gang sits together and discusses episodes. So sooner or later, you will involuntarily be fed nonsensical trivia about the show. Glee is big with the queer crowd so any overt criticism might get you in trouble with them. This is what I get for not considering medical school.

I wouldn't have brought it up if it wasn't so prominently on display. We once had an American client who tried to explain something by drawing analogies from the show, Dog the Bounty Hunter. We know of colleagues who have TV buddies back in the States busy Tivo-ing shows so they could see them together in the future. Perhaps they were mostly thirty somethings set in their routines and we are a bunch of twenty somethings trying to figure them out.

Half a mil you say? *sniff* Kaam kya karte hain?

Out here, even the rich kids show up to school for the intention to hit on girls. Either way, I kinda feel funny talking about all this while the rest are discussing Keynesian economics, externalities and medical coverage. :enjoy:

Such is life, with all of its seemingly trivial miseries... until said miseries become repetitive..like someone trying to blow out your kneecaps with a toffee hammer..incessantly hammering away to your utter and inconceivable horror. Bleak, bleak and unimpressive this world is, if only there were dragons to be slayed. Now excuse me, my tumor is whispering horrible things to me again...

Since the topic is America...it is fitting that you deal with your tumor the American way....shoot up your office or something and then shoot your tumor!

I have thought of that, don't think that I haven't. I have been ruminating over such a course of action but somehow I always end up getting distracted midway and then inexplicably pass out only to wake up in my birthday suit and find my self covered in tapioca pudding...an odd and repetitive conclusion to any foray towards such thoughts.

Dark humor...you never how to appropriately respond to it. I think I'm just gonna stick to thanking your post.

P.S. Aren't you like 22 or something? What misery have you seen, women turning you down?

No, its the morbid monotony of being a CA actually, well that and other things. I was born lucky with women and all other accouterments of company and pleasure. It is stagnation and lack of intellectual stimulation which drive me to my current state of borderline insanity, those essential ingredients of existential angst and melancholy..like darned Sisyphus pushing the boulder up the slope.

Well the American way solving this problem of 'spontaneous passing out' of yours would be to shoot up a pre-school....or was it a middle school?!....try both of them out and let me know which one works!

Appealing and even appetizing since I have never much liked children but I think I shall pass. I have settled down to writing a book and I am borrowing, rather unimaginatively, the title of said book- "Man that's a grape."

They say its as simple as brain surgery. That's what you get with good grades in high school. 8 years in Johns Hopkins. Also half a mil was sortve exaggerated cause it was 440k according to him in 2009. Knowing he keeps a low profile I was imagining he was low balling it. No idea what he does or makes now cause we lost touch because of the huge income disparity.
