Dubai’s incentive offer in limelight at GIBTM as Emirate prepares to welcome largest group in its history

Mega-group’s visit to showcase Dubai’s capabilities to host large scale business events

The Dubai Convention and Events Bureau (DCEB), a division of the Department of Commerce and Tourism Marketing (DTCM), is set to showcase the Emirate’s premier incentive offer at this year’s annual Gulf Incentives, Business Travel & Meetings Expo (GIBTM) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from March 24-26.

As part of its preparations for the event, the DCEB has announced that Dubai will welcome the single largest incentives group in its history from April 6-16, comprising over 14,500 delegates from Nu Skin Enterprises Inc in China.

Business events and incentive tourism are key pillars of Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020 strategy to increase visitors to Dubai to 20 million in 2020.

The DTCM and DCEB’s participation at GIBTM and its announcement that it will be hosting the largest-ever incentives group comes as part of efforts to grow awareness of the Emirate’s offer both regionally and internationally.

The company has booked 39,514 rooms in 40 hotels and 409 tourist guides

In what is considered to be one of the biggest vacations organised by a company for its staff in history, a Chinese company will transport more than 16,000 of its employees on a 10-day trip to the UAE, CNN Arabic news channel reported.

The company will begin transferring its staff in seven batches, starting from Sunday until April 17. The company’s offices represented in the trip are from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, the news channel reported.

Each batch will include at least 2,000 people. They will be brought in on 77 flights, including two chartered trips organised by Emirates. The cost according to UAE and Chinese media will be “hundreds of millions of dollars,” CNN Arabic said.

The company has booked 39,514 rooms in 40 hotels and 409 tourist guides. According to officials the company also booked the “Ferrari World” nightclub for three days, and dinner parties on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi for 8,000 people.

Dubai welcomes 14,500 delegates as UAE's largest ever corporate incentive group arrives

The Dubai Convention and Events Bureau, DCEB, a division of the Department of Commerce and Tourism Marketing (DTCM), is welcoming the first of 14,500 incentive delegates arriving from Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. in China.

DCEB won the bid for Dubai to host the Nu Skin incentive mega-group in January 2013, fending off fierce competition from Macau, Seoul and Singapore.

The delegation, which represents the largest corporate incentive group in U.A.E. history, are arriving in seven waves, with one wave averaging around 2,000 people arriving every day between Sunday, April 6th and Saturday, April 12th. The last wave will depart the U.A.E. on April 17th, and each wave will be in the U.A.E. for five days.

Nu Skin chose to visit Dubai because of its premier incentive offer, which includes iconic landmarks, world-class accommodation and transport infrastructure and a robust offering of leisure events and activities.

All the groups will experience an almost identical tour programme which will take them to see the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Al Bastakiya, Dubai Creek and the Palm Jumeirah along with other locations in addition to select areas of interest around Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

Mohammad shows Chinese tourists UAE hospitality

16,000-strong delegation is visiting the UAE as a reward for good performance

It’s not often that a country’s leaders welcome a delegation of 16,000 tourists arriving in the country as part of a holiday.
But on Thursday, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, welcomed a delegation of tourists from Nu Skin Enterprises’ China Office.

Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, was also on hand for the reception. Shaikh Mohammad welcomed the visitors as part of a visit in which the 16,000 employees Nu Skin China office employees are touring various landmarks across the UAE.

The employees earned the holiday as a reward for helping their company achieve record-high profits in 2013. Shaikh Mohammad stressed the importance of human, social and cultural interaction between the people of the UAE and other countries, and building new bridges that help close the gap between different cultures.

Enhance relations

He pointed out that culture and tourism are the most ideal and easiest way to enhance relations between different peoples.

The Chinese delegation expressed their profound gratitude for the warm hospitality they have received since their arrival to the UAE, and their happiness at meeting with Shaikh Mohammad. The delegation took pictures with Shaikh Mohammad, reflecting their gratitude to him and the UAE’s hospitality.

Earlier, the Traffic Education Patrol of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, assisted by a police patrol from Khalifa A Police Station and patrols from Saeed Company for Traffic Systems, participated in welcoming the first groups of tourists during their visit to Yas Marina Circuit and Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi.

The patrols helped ensure smooth traffic flow for the buses and handed out brochures to the tourists that contained tips during their tour.
