Last reported Territory Captured is At 11pm on September 21, 1965, the 523 men of 3 Jat, led by their CO, Lieutenant Colonel Desmond Hayde (he had already been awarded the Maha Vir Chakra for his inspiring leadership on the first day of the offensive) rose, turned their faces towards their objective, Dograi, and never looked back.
Dograi, Lahore
Concrete pill boxes in Dograi, Lahore proved to be a tough nut to crack, as they even withstood artillery shelling! These formidable defences were finally captured in hand-to-hand combat by the 3 Jat.

The will to win was overwhelming. Establishing a firm base north of the township, they moved to the forming-up place, organised into assault formations and launched their attack at precisely 2am preceded by a thunderous artillery bombardment. Immediately they came under murderous fire from their right flank. Subedar Pale Ram led Charlie Company into their famous charge and took the enemy position.

Even after the capture of Dograi on 20–21 September no attempt was made to capture Lahore and the main assault on Lahore was not launched because a ceasefire was to be signed in the following couple of days and it was known that the city would have been given back to even if it was captured

Lol, and Op Gibraltar had nothing to do with all this ?

The operation Gibraltar was performed along ceasefire line. It was a limited conflict and not an all out war. The major all out war started when India crossed international border to capture Lahore and Sialkot and failed badly.

At worst Pakistan can be accused of starting limited hostility in Chamb sector along ceasefire line. Pakistan never crossed international border until India launched a full scale attack along international border. ::)

Now go celebrate your "victory".

Stated Launching Op Gibraltar Attacked Taking Kashmir
End up Defending Lahore

Yeah you won

Listen child for a living brainfart like you capturing small border villages and towns like Barki and Dograi might be a huge achievement. Pakistan's aim of defending Lahore was successful. Even to capture Dograi it took you 15 days of war even though dograi village is just a few kms from the international border. And even that Dograi village would have been taken back since it was occupied by only a small unit of 3 Jat.

So you failed in your objective of capturing Lahore. Even your own journalist says you ran out of ideas when it comes to war and you desperately wanted ceasefire since war was not going anywhere.

We know how and why the 1965 war ended: when both sides got tired, bored, ran short of military ideas and, most importantly, ammunition. Both sides failed to achieve any objectives and began preparing for the next round.

http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/...tual-incompetence-shekhar-gupta/1/450369.html

That's why I said. To call 65 war a success for India is nothing but bogus nationalism and chest thumping. It was a stalemate for both. And I stand by my point till now. :)

Distance From Dograi To lahore 11 KM Which Comes Under Direct Arty Fire And Tank fire At the end of hostilities on 23 September India retained Between 140 square miles(War Despatches by Lt. Gen.Harbaksh Singh)and 360 square kilometres(official Indian History of 1965 war) of Pakistani territory in the lahore front including major villages of Bedian,Barki,Padri,Dograi,Bhasin and Ichhogil uttar along the eastern bank of the Ichhogil canal

before Posting read What he Said

"We know how and why the 1965 war ended: when both sides got tired, bored, ran short of military ideas and, most importantly, ammunition. Both sides failed to achieve any objectives and began preparing for the next round. After 1971, India has no military objectives left vis-a-vis Pakistan except deterrence and has therefore been able to build its economy, calm its society to formidable coherence and rise as a status quo power. Unachieved military objectives are all on the Pakistani army's side, these haven't changed since 1965"

There is a difference between begging for a ceasefire in Tashkent aswell..
No one begged for a cease fire m8, in fact Lal Bahadur was against it from the start, it was just international pressure which finally got the better of him!!

You have only one "utar asal" to boast of in the entire war
Is that so, huh m8??I had expected a little bit more intellectual honesty from a member of your calibre but i guess your sense of rabid nationalism has got the better of you.
Actually, if one is to just take even a cursory look at the facts, it would present a complete different picture!!In fact it's the other way round of what you are saying.Actually, it' you people who has only a Chawinda to show for yourself otherwise it was largely defeats after defeats!!Whenever the opposing armored forces came face to face in open ground, the Pakistanis lost miserably.
For your every Chawinda,we have a battle of Asal Uttar, where despite of having an extremely potent and advanced tank fleet numbering more than six regiments of latest M 48 Pattons and facing an inferior force, which was also outnumbered 2 to 1, the Pakistani fleet was decimated!!And that too while facing a force largely consisting of out dated Shermans and AMX 13 tin cans with only a handful of Centurion MkVIIIs.You guys lost about 3 regiments worth of M 48s or some 110 and you call yourselves pros!!In the same battle, we lost no more than 10 tanks, mostly AMX 13s!!

For your every victory of Chawinda,we have a Phillora where again Pakistani armored columns were ambushed by Indian armor and lost harrowing losses. In fact according to independent analysts, your losses in this one battle was over 10 times than India!!

For your every successful defence of Chawinda, we have one Burki, where despite of having mastered an entire fuckking armored brigade of 3 regiments, you guys could not overcome a single Centurion regiment, which was again outnumbered by 3 to 1!oh and again suffered dearly at our hands!!

And here you are, standing so proud and showing the audacity to make such tall claims, totally devoid of any realities, claims which only Pakistanis can make!!Truly, when it comes to spreading false propaganda, you guys would put even the most hardcore of the communists to utter shame!!The only difference between you guys and the communists are that you guys just manage fall for your own deception!!

which cost you quarter of your airforce
At that time, IAF had over 800 jets in its inventory. You really think that you guys managed to destroy over 200 of those jets??And yet somehow we are the delusional ones??!!

double the number of tanks and arty

Hahahahahahaha.....................you are fuckking hilarious you know that bro??Double the number of tanks and artillery, hahahahaha!!
and the threat of losing your entire province...
The threat became non existent the moment you guys lost the battle for Asal uttar!!Read some real history and by real, I mean real, and not one of your propaganda mouth pieces!!
Had it been the other case you wanted have begging for a ceasefire.
What is this obsession of yours with this word begging??It's really really getting annoying now m8. Although it probably comes natural to you since you do come from a nhation which shows similar characteristics to beggers, gotta admit that one.
Neither would have shashtri died of a heart attack.
He was an elderly man!!

. . .
To be honest, not really that much, except that effed up 62 fiasco. :)

Hahahaha, I don't even watch Bollywood!!The thing is, you are just too embarrassed to accept the reality and it's showing.Stop trying too hard, learn to relax a bit chummy, otherwise you might get a heart attack one day I'm telling ya.And we wouldn't want that to happen, would we now?? :)
in 62, thousands of clueless Indian chickens were chased, raped and captured by few poorly equipped board skirmish PLA troops, compared to an Indian fabricated feeling good after bitten incident that involved no more than few dozen personals```lol, really a 'win over'``` :cheesy:

well i've got to say, Indian are really outstanding in terms to entertain others, I reckon it is a set of quality you must have to maintain the state of being utterly deluded and ignorant, that is Indian quality````bless India and its funny people

All you crying Still Not Hide Fact that's

Pakistan Attacked Kashmir End up Saving its own Backyard Lahore & Sialkot
Other authors like Stephen Philip Cohen, have consistently commented that the Pakistan Army had

You are repeating the same cr@p again and again. Yes we were defending our own backyard and we defended it successfully. You failed to capture Lahore and Sialkot. You can sugarcoat it as much as you want to but fact is that you failed to capture both cities despite they being very close to Indian border.

So read this again and accept the fact that it was a stalemate.

Both sides failed to achieve any objectives and began preparing for the next round

It hurts I know since you are a fanboy of Indian military. But still accept the reality. Use burnol if it hurts too much.

Bye :)
