100 foot Chinese God statue covered after Muslims threaten to break down

.
Hindu have an "OG" status in Indonesia. Even if the whole country turns radical. Hindu & Buddhist religion will never be targeted.

As a chinese living here this is a worrying trend but what surprise me more is that this never happened before. Giant statue of deity is nothing new in Indonesia. We just built a giant buddha statue couple of years back & there's no outrage over it. The papuan government even have a plan to make a 100m tall jesus statue (taller than the one in rio) with built in viewing platform inside the head so you can see through Jesus's eyes... So they said.

Well the reason should be more simpler this statue is FUCKGLY, look at the finishing touch colour and the design. Kwan Im statue in siantar is just finished and there ia no backlash over it because it beautifully made and there is no norak and provocative colour

And certainly not from India, it's from Nepal...LMAO don try to steal Nepal heritage...and I don't believe on anything to begin with.
Nepal protested against this indian movie "from chandni chowk to China" because it claims prince buddha was from india.

In this case tell us something about India...
The most racist country in the history of mankind.
indians believe people outside of india are sub-humans.

How is the fate of the ethnic Chinese Indonesian governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama? Nickname Ahok?
As oversea chinese living in the Netherlands we heard many horrible stories of treatment of ethnic chinese living in Indonesia. Especially the riots of 1998.

.
What are Chinese doing in Indonesia with their statue gods?

They should be sent back to china.

@hussain0216

Yep, its up to indonesia and Indonesians. It is a major muslim majority country if its people don't want statues/idols they can refuse them

2 years in jail.

Welcome to the new world!!

People who support hindutva or a butcher like Modi or a pervert like Yogi cant complain about Indonesia

Better than being killed for blasphemy.

Even Westerners in Western countries like France get butchered in large numbers for perceived blasphemy (Je suis Charlie), now imagine how Ahok will survive in a Muslim majority country like Indonesia. Him being in prison has saved his life.

.
I heard of blasphemy against the islam? Then Ahok must be really stupid if he tried hard his best to forward modern mindset, local projects to improve the poor locals etc if the average Indonesian muslims still stucked in the middle age mentality. Sighhh. No good deeds goes rewarded.

Ahok had the support of the president. Thats why he is still alive. Cant said the same thing for the average Chinese who get killed for the same act.

Ahok didn't actually commit blasphemy, he just said his opponents were incorrectly using religious arguments against him. But that doesn't matter. What matters is that the Indonesian Muslims believe he committed blasphemy, so his fate will be the same as Je suis Charlie.

Blasphemy is basically a political weapon nowadays, if you point at a non-Muslim and say he committed blasphemy (and get a few friends to back you up) then he is dead.

To all your points:
  1. Najib heads the same party that started race riots in 1969. In fact Najib himself is on record promoting Malay Supremacy and other stuff. In fact, UMNO associated goons were just recently stirring anti-Chinese sentiment in Malaysia during Bersih Protests, and even calling for open massacre of Chinese.
Don't forget that China also supported Pol Pot, who was involved in killing of many Chinese ethnic people.
  2. Have a look at the map. Singapore is literally a river away from Malaysia, and a small stretch away from Indonesia, BOTH of whom have elements that claim Singapore as their territory. If there is a larger Malay/Indonesian Supremacy extremism in that area, Singapore is definitely going to be affected.
  3. I was talking about Indonesia. Bali may be Hindu, but what about rest? And there is well established hate against Chinese among various Indonesian groups. A LOT more hate compared to Hindus. Chinese will be the first target to extremism in that area.

It is true what you have stated above. As someone who has spent time for 4 years in Indonesia and Malaysia, it amazed me how well local Indian and Chinese work together to survive among the many local hostility towards them whether its political motivated, racism or religious bigoted attitudes and yet both ethnicity on average are rich or middle income without even the support of the local government.

When the riot of 1998 occured against the Ethnic Chinese Indonesian, only ROC/Taiwan lodge protest against the horrible treatment/killing. Mainland China kept silence about it under the guise of no interfering with other nations's affair. I can tell you that it was the turning point for the oversea Chinese about how they viewed mainland china/PRC.
