Lies will be always debunked by themelves over time, they eventually will come back to haunt the liars themselves.

Kashgar Old town Kunlun Tower gives a good birds eye view of the Kashgar Old Town in Xinjiang

I been kashgar. Com on, the old town is very small, something like 2km x 2km. Kashgar is desert and cannot support big population.

Only modern infrastructure water diversion allows Kashgar to grow to today size. Since Kashgar is desert, there are many land. No need to demolish anything from old town.

The article suggests that China wants to rebuild Kashgar. Rebuilding can occur in a number of ways including replacing or improving infrastructure.

How are WE supposed to know what happened in Kashgar.

Sorry but this is lame attempt to discredit a globally renowned source such as NYT. This source is noted for disclosing information that governments around the world will never admit to.

If Kashgar is rebuilt, who cares. Good for its locals. Urban regeneration is not bad news.
