A Soldier was Wounded in a Shootout with the PKK​

• A group of 10 - 12 PKK Members open fire on Turkish Soldiers with a PKM Light Machine Gun.
• P.Uzm.Çvş. Erkan YAVUZ was lightly wounded after his arm was shot.
  
• The Soldiers immediately returned fire.
• An attack helicopter was sent to deal with the terrorists.

10-12 kişilik bir bölücü terör örgütü grubu tarafından, saat 14.00 sularında, Şemdinli/Derecik Mamraş Tepe Üs Bölgesinde bulunan unsurlara, Üs Bölgesinin yaklaşık 1000 m batısında, Irak Kuzeyinde yeralan Çiftkapı Sırtı Bölgesinden PKM Mk.Tf. (BİXİ) ile 50-60 atım taciz ateşi açılmıştır. İlk ateşten sonra atışlar aralıklı olarak 45 dakika boyunca devam etmiştir.
Açılan ilk ateş esnasında, P.Uzm.Çvş. Erkan YAVUZ kolundan hafif şekilde yaralanmıştır. Taciz ateşine üs bölgesinde bulunan silahlarla derhal karşılık verilerek, Çiftkapı Sırtı Bölgesindeki söz konusu 10-12 kişilik bölücü terör örgütü grubu ateş altına alınmıştır.
Bir taarruz helikopter kolu, bölgede bulunan bölücü terör örgütü mensuplarını etkisiz hale getirmek maksadıyla, bölgede silahlı keşif uçuşu yapmıştır. Yaralı personel, Yüksekova Devlet Hastanesi’ne sevk edilerek tedavi altına alınmış olup hayati tehlikesi bulunmamaktadır.

There was never peace process. Only cease fire. There is a saying in turkish. Don't feed a snake that is wrapped around your neck. Their goal is clear.

Now that the elections are over. Things will go as usual. Iran has more to offer to pkk than Turkey. That is why I suspect pkk will start their operations soon. One indication, which is very telling, during this so called peace process. Pkk has gathered more members than the period before.

The calculation was this. Akp will capitalize on peace process and use it as a card during the elections. And pkk will get the opportunity to strengthen itself.

Pkk tried to get foothold in Syria and we supported fsa to kick their behinds. They are butt hurt they couldn't capitalize as much as akp from this process.

You keep blaming akp and its supporters, but tell me what have the previous parties done? At least Turkey, regardless of which party, tried responding with the army and now with this peace process. I believe both kinda failed, but imo there is more chance if Turkey can manage to root those bastards out systematically and ruthlessly in north iraq and wherever they hide. Unfortunately it is easy talking while in reality these bastards are kept alive through external financial help (insufficient crackdowns in EU), unsupportive neighbors who even might help pkk, pkk propaganda for manpower etc. At least we can't say anymore that we didnt try peace talks, neither can't others accuse us about it.
Anyway, this feels like repeating old cassettes.

There is only one posiitive side about pkk peace talks. At the end we can say, look we tried but it failed. But i m afraid this peace talk is nothing more than a tool for akp to get votes and these fools dont know what they are doing. While back I read Kurds saying without pkk we wouldn't have get these rights. So in a sense we are giving pkk legitimacy and that cab lead to a whole host of problems. It will lead to more blood. Don't think on short term peace. On long term it will create a bigger beast. Cheap sentences like what did previous parties do and why don't you want peace are naive words from akp fanboys or propaganda words from pkk supporters. They are both in the same boat playing with fire. Look how inadequately AKP planned and acted in Syria. I hope for the best but AKP record shows they don't know what they are doing.
