Pakistan receives first of six C-130s

Hi Ahsan, I'm only guessing this, but this may be the new scheme being adopted. The airframes had the paint removed when they were refurbished to check for potential problems covered up over the skin. At that point I guess the PAF could have requested the scheme they use to be applied as it...

Pakistan receives first of six C-130s

Hi Ahsan, The paint scheme I'm referring to is the 'new' colours applied to the Ex-RAAF C-130Es. 4189 has come out in a all over Dark Grey scheme. Don't know anything about the colours for the Ex-Argentine 'H' model.

Pakistan receives first of six C-130s

Some of what I'm writing here is probably already known about. So apologies in advance. But new items inserted as comments next to airframes with notes. The six C-130Es [All airframes will be equivalent to Super 'E' standard when delivered] going to PAF are: Lockheed C-130E msn#...

Pakistan receives first of six C-130s

BofB, You've asked the golden nugget question. What package has the PAF selected. When I have something I'll post info. LM are not forth coming on either subject matter for the F-16 and C-130's. Even with all manpower at F-16.Net we still can't get accurate information.

Will the Air Force and Navy take the retired F-27's when the ATR42's come into service?

Pakistan receives first of six C-130s

Does anyone know if these are 'new' build C-130's? If so have you got the serial numbers. The last I heard was that 4 Ex-RAAF 'E' models were being refurbished by LM & were to be supplied to the PAF [As BofB has correctly stated]. Where are the additional 2 from if not new...

    Pakistan said re-thinking U.S. F-16 deal

Bilal I agree with all you say in your post. I just heavily disagree with BofB that the F-35 is the way to go. Let alone all the other types that get listed here. For Pakistans needs the F-16 is perfect. I'd rather the PAF went out and invested in a decent AWACS platform and after the...

    Pakistan said re-thinking U.S. F-16 deal

Ok I'm interested to know what you'd replace the F-16 with? You call it the stop gap. What is is favoured gap filler??? If anyone mentions the Rafale or Gripen then :bash: :swear: I'm not a big fan of doing comparisons. Who is better than who. The proof is in the pudding. If the...

    Pakistan said re-thinking U.S. F-16 deal

Thanks for the welcome :w00t: I wouldn't call the F-16 the 'stop gap' fighter. Consider several European/NATO based sqn's regards this as there frontline evolution fighter. I'd say the rest of the fleet is now in the stages of being called the 'stop gap' till new...

    Pakistan said re-thinking U.S. F-16 deal

I still believe there is plenty of life left in the 'older' fleet, even though its now reached 100,000 hrs of flying service. I don't think any of the existing F-16 will be removed from front line duties or cannibalised for parts
