Shooting Down the First Soviet Su-25

As the Iranian and Iraqi airforces of the 1980s proved, an air force is only as effective as the leadership in and around it. Were the PAF allowed to function as a separate entity, and didn't have to be involved in the political game...we would have NATO aircraft being engaged. But the reality...

American attack aftermath: Pakistan declares attack a 'plot'

What a complete disaster. Many of us have disagreed with Pakistan's, all give and no take, relation ship with the US...but this is way beyond politics. Far too many of our soldiers are dying in an endless quagmire. Unfortunately, our own leadership has put Pakistan in such a corner, that we have...

Half of US voters say Iran should be bombed

If Iranians, or Pakistanis for that matter, were asked the same question, I have an inkling more than half those voters would want to bomb the US. Why do we insist on holding the Americans to a higher moral standard than us. Do you expect more from your next door neighbor or the guy you work...

USAF to Pay US$7.4 Billion to Upgrade F-22 jets

I know this is a theoretical question more than anything...if we leave aside the unquestionable superiority the USAF enjoys and, for the sake of argument, have the Russians and Chinese go at it with their low observable aircraft and you have similar detection distances...would medium range...

USAF to Pay US$7.4 Billion to Upgrade F-22 jets

Hey that's a really good point. Since Lockheed promotes the f-35 as having the sort of situational awareness that allows it to detect an aircraft as soon as it fires a missile at it and the Russians going for the same affect with multiple radars on the Pak-Fa...I am yet to fully grasp the...

Huge blast rocks Hezbollah stronghold in south Lebanon

This is another example of what I keep saying, but no one bothers to pay attention because it goes against the popular opinion. Why does Hezbollah, Iran, and Iraq before it constantly antagonize the Israelis. More often than not, they do so to sway public opinion and divert attention from...

Pakistan must do more to counter terrorism: Australian PM

Well if enough people start saying the exact same thing, it can't hurt to reflect on the issue at hand. I don't think any Pakistani will argue with the deeper issue here. It isn't about the actual war being conducted on our Western border...where we are failing miserably is at the grassroots...

    PLA rehearsing India attack

Hmmm, your point may have some substance, but has no real relation to what I was saying. I was just saying China was not the nation that dismantled the awesome military might of the Japanese...that credit must go to the Americans. The Chinese must have fought bravely and may have checked the...

Mass incarceration, concentration camps & torture camps operated by America

Not really a fan of threads like these. American prisoners probably have a higher standard of living than people in our respective nations in South Asia. Instead of lecturing the Americans, we may better spend our time criticizing the leaders that have failed our nations and peoples so thoroughly.

    PLA rehearsing India attack

Gambit posted a very interesting reply to such claims in another thread. Just accepting the surrender of an adversary, after that nation has been beaten into pulp, is not the same as defeating or overwhelming an enemy yourself. I am not an expert on Chinese-Vietnamese relationship, but Japan was...

For the world of immigrants living within

That's a completely idealistic opinion and it overlooks the interest the first world has in allowing immigrants to come into their territories in the first place. Immigrants are usually required to make up numbers in nations with slowing growth rates...you need more professionals, more tax...

PAF conducted 5,500 bombing runs in FATA since 2008.

Your point is completely valid, but irrelevant in this context. It doesn't matter if 99% of the population supports NATO, if all the ones fighting are from the 1% that disagrees. It isn't about the rationality or morality of their fight...but about the unshakable belief they have in their cause...

PAF conducted 5,500 bombing runs in FATA since 2008.

I did not mention the Taliban or the NA, nor did I say I agree with what is happening. The reality is what it is, whether we agree with it or not. I am just pointing out the natives of the land naturally fight with greater vigor because they have alot more to lose, and they are shown daily...

PAF conducted 5,500 bombing runs in FATA since 2008.

Well it simply comes down to dispassionate, disconnected soldiers that have not the slightest of idea what they are doing there...what moral grounds they are supposed to be standing on...are they even the good guys? The afghans are simply fighting with the ferocity of a people with everything to...

    40 years of the UAE

I don't disagree with your point so much as the extreme to which you expect the middle east to fall to. But I am just speculating, its a pretty novel concept to have an economy devoted to one resource. In the past such nations were usually just outposts of colonial powers. It is still unproven...

    40 years of the UAE

My friend, I was kidding. I still believe UAE has a far more stable future ahead of it then many nations in that region. They may rely on oil as their main revenue source, but they have atleast utilized all that money to invest in other sectors of their economy. As Mosamania pointed out, Saudi...

    40 years of the UAE

Take the Americans out and neither would Israel. In all seriousness, we must all deal with the hands we've been dealt. UAE maybe all oil rich, but their are many oil rich nations that have accomplished absolutely nothing of value with the so called, black gold. UAE is far better off than most of...

Pak bans dirty texting: just say no to monkey crotch

Its nice to know that while countless Pakistanis die of starvation and terrorism, our government, clearly, is focusing on the more pressing issue at hand...you may plan a terrorist attack on your phone, but how dare you mention your tongue. Kinda ironic, in a nation with so many kidnappings...

PAF conducted 5,500 bombing runs in FATA since 2008.

Battle hardened personnel maybe Pakistan's greatest assets in future conflicts. The sort of real world, practical experience our armed forces have gained under immense pressure is hard to measure. It's the sort of intangible that can truly make a difference in warfare. The unconventional nature...

    Energy Security and Pakistan

This is where nations with limited technical know how suffer. The Iranians and Iraqis both nationalized their oil production and saw their production fall apart. Having natural resources can be a great blessing, but extracting them efficiently is a wholly different ballgame. Third world nations...
