Arable land can't compare to oil/mineral exports in earning money. There is enough food to feed all, but money is required for everything else. India's main exports are processed goods and services. Africa's main exports are natural resources. How is it comparable?

Not so much. The three African countres - Nizeria, SA, and Egypt combined have an economy of about 1.2 Trillions, more than half the economy of Africa (2.3 Trillions). Of which, two are oil exporters. SA exports minerals (Diamond, gold etc) worth about 20% of its economy. There is Algeria, 30%...

Not possible. Every country has different economic policies, social conditions, resources and so on. Take Nigeria for example - and oil dependent economy. It has more than fourth of Indian economy. How is any Indian state supposed to compete with that? Egypt, a country with population of Delhi...

As you said, can't compare a country to continent. It is countries like SA and Nigeria that skew the numbers in favor of Africa. The two countries with combined population barely one-sixth of India have more than one-third the gdp.
