1: You are clearly unfamiliar with the working of the Akash system. The radars are extremely long range. And one squadron consists of a number of batteries which consist of many launchers which are spread out in a large area. So you don't need the missile to have a 300 km range. One whole...
No they wont. The new US Zumwalt class destroyers cost over 3.5 Billion each. And I doubt 1.8 billion is the cost of each destroyer. It'll be in the range of 1.2 billion. A lot of money goes into the designing, refitting of shipyards etc.
They should've sent the Shivalik! I mean it's just been added to the eastern fleet. What an awesome way to start off. Especially if the singapore navy is bringing in their formidable class.
Depends on a few factors. Will China export the J20? Will the for sale price be 75 mil? I'm assuming that's the price China gets it. And finally 3 squadrons is completely unaffordable for the current Pakistan
CRUISE MISSILE? With range over 8000 km? CRUISE MISSILE?!?!? You mean ballistic bro?
You're joking right? Even the USAF doesn't have 3.5k fighters. And most importantly, the more the number of plane types, the more the suicidal it is
Do we have a 4th gen fighter working?
This is sorta...
What we're paying for is their R&D. NOT the manufacturing cost. The USN doesn't even pay 150 mil for those planes. I'm not saying it shouldn't cost us that much. I'm just saying if the USA is trying to make us a strategic ally we should be offered prices comparable to what the UK or Canada pay...
You don't know what they meant. Even ousting saddam was a noble objective. But look what they've done to Iraq. BRIC nations were merely expressing their concerns
Are you stupid? What do you mean by proof? Before buying a car do you ask for proof that it's not faulty? They have been tested and you can trust them. How are they supposed to prove to you? Simulate a freaking tsunami?
Another example that comes to mind is the P8 poseidon deal. Our Civilian carriers buy boeing 737-800s at less than 80 million a piece. So we paid an extra 170 million for the sensor suite? Friggin unbelievable
If you look up, we are rapidly bolstering our shipyard capabilities. Also, now as private yards like pipavav come into play, the whol dynamics is going to change
But looking at the canada price, inclusive of all life cycle costs.. I feel if we'd resorted to a little arm twisting we'd have got a much better deal. What say?
The link says 'may include'. The thing is, the initial deal was for 5.8 billion. But seeing this reduce to 4.1.. I think the life cycle costs are going to be added seperately
