Turkey requested since 2005 predator and later Reaper UAV's which never where answered by the US. So Turkey started to develop her own UAV's and later UCAV's. Now we do not need US UAV's anymore. Akinci UAV is evenmore advanced than Reaper, it will carry AESA radar and have a certain level of...

    Turkish Engine Programs

Nice question, but next to your question I would place another question. If these engines are suited for military vehicles than why aren't they used in the Otokar Cobra for instance instead of the Cummins engine? Otokar and Otosan are both part of the same mother company, so there is no any...

Yes that is the logical way as the replacement time of the Barbaros class would coincide with the TF100. I too expect that TF100 will be an LCS / multipurpose, somewhat bigger and heavier than I-class in the 4000+tonnes class. Kinda like the Belharra that is LCS+ with some airdefence capability

You make it sound as if Karayel was not purchased for political reasons which is not true, or not completely true. Vestel was tasked to make a UAV that was catapult launched (for the navy), Vestel made the UAV but it was not katapult launch able. I cannot say that the Vestel Karayel is a bad...

I would not think so, at that spot used to be the Thales Lirod MKII lightweight fire control radar / optronic director. The fire control for the fast forty twin gun on the back of the ship. So if it has to be a newer fire control radar to feed the back gun.

Sure loaded it would require a longer runway, but not 2km. The US predator doesn't need such long runways either, but with safety precautions etc. those are recommended runway distances. On aircraft carriers they use different runway requirements. The Akinci probably would have no problems...
