Very disappointing the 003 went with conventional power if this is true. They had already made the leap to EM catapults so it doesn't make sense why they couldn't make the (in my opinion smaller) leap to nuclear propulsion. Chinese reactors in terms of design and operation are already quite mature.
Because there are different tier of engines. The Chinese effort has mainly gone into large (WS-15/WS-10), medium thrust engines (WS-19, WS-13), and turboshaft engines (WZ-10, WZ-16). As a result, they are missing a low thrust class engine, which is where the AI-222 comes in.

I didn't say you ... I was referring to the prevailing assumption at the time, as Gunnam said his USAF friend suggested. I said that you stated the J-20 was closer to the F-22.
Yes that was the prevailing assumption at the very beginning but now as @White and Green with M/S states, the J-20 is an air superiority fighter more similar to the F-22 than the F-35. The days of a true aerial interceptor you mention like the Mig 25 are long gone due to their lack of...
I would be actually very surprised if @Deino really said this. Most likely, the author of the article deliberately misquoted him, which was something that happened before IIRC.
This is not the primary role of the J-20 at all ... what you are describing is an ultra stealthy interceptor, which is...
No shit ... of course trust is disturbed when they kick you out of 1000 to 4000 square kilometers of territory and butcher 50 more of your soldiers with spiked clubs.
A military that cannot even differentiate between planets and Chinese UAVs I doubt can recognize a PLA troop withdrawal at all, let alone an exact number. Besides, there is no where else for the Chinese Army to go besides towards the Indian border since China doesn't face any land threats...
Unfortunately the Royal Navy was far superior to the Argentinian navy ... Argentia could have wore down the British defenders to the point of surrender had there been enough time but Britain would just form a naval perimeter around the island. Basically, the cat would then become the mouse.
I think Pakistan can probably turn this design into reality ... both China and to a smaller extent Turkey can supply the subsystems to realize this. However, I am really not sure if China is willing to share its stealth RAM coating and the metamaterials used on the J-20 with Pakistan yet.
What makes you say this?
I'm not sure you can call this a finalized design though. I think a joint venture is more favorable for Pakistan because if it wants to realize this design by itself, the costs of importing the subsystems, mainly from China and Turkey, will be extremely high. The LCA...
Engine improvements ... the WS-10 on the J-20 is on par with the 117S of the Su-35, currently Russia's most advanced aeroengine in operation. If the Chinese really really wanted to go domestic at the cost of some performance/reliability, they could have plopped the WS-10 into the first J-20...
