Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft [AMCA] Development | Updates & Discussions.

That needs to be seen I guess, so far they focus mainly on the primary weapon bay, but if they won't have missile bays, the whole design is even more pathetic than I expected. Btw, if we can take the size of the weaponbay in the pic as the actually planned size, it gets even more evident, that...

Beef banned in Maharashtra, 5 yrs jail, Rs 10,000 fine for possession or sale

Well that at least would show that the law is made with a strict reason behind it and not with loopholes like it is now, my concern however is, that the law can't prefer the sentiment of one religion and force other religions to act against their constitutional rights! Exactly, everybody is...

Dassault Rafale, tender | News & Discussions [Thread 2]

Well they even take low capable 4th gen fighters for the first to carriers and NLCA as we know will arrive only beyond 2020 to, which makes the Silent Hornet far more capable than anything Indian Navy will have right? :) So, yes they will be interested in it, which however doesn't mean that they...

Beef banned in Maharashtra, 5 yrs jail, Rs 10,000 fine for possession or sale

But then only the slaughter would be prohibited, while the opening articles says that the possession or sale is prohibited, that then includes beef that was bought from other states. This however shows that it has mainly religious reasons and that is the problem, because of the seperation of...

    TATA to build plane

The PR campaign is, but this has nothing to do with that, since TATA had formed most of this JV much before the elections and partially because of the offset policy brought in by the former DM, that requires foreign vendors to invest back into the Indian industry. That's why LM for example...

Dassault Rafale, tender | News & Discussions [Thread 2]

The carrier version would only come under consideration for IAC 2, as additional Migs and NLCAs are considered for the first 2 carriers. Add CFTs, the weapon pod and put it on an Indian carrier and you might see a realistic choice for IN.

Why is India not interested in talks with Pakistan?

Which no country in the world would do, because you can't ignore any threats to your country, be it internal or external. Put yourself in Indias position, would you ignore threats to your country, from the soil of a neighbor? Of course you wouldn't and that's why the only way for India to do...

India's Future Main Battle Tank (FMBT)

    Who said something about under 50t? I said lighter than Arjun Mk1 T72 – around 41t Arjun MK1 – 58t => Tank Ex MK1 – around 47t T90S – around 46t Arjun MK2 – 68t => Tank EX Mk2 - between 50 and 55t? - smaller size and weight than both Arjun versions - lighter and more firepower than T90 and...

Indian Navy to acquire 50 drones for intelligence purposes

That's why I'm asking, shouldn't the tilt rotor design offer the same speed, range and service ceilling advantages a V22 offer over a normal helicopter? That means, the Eagle Eye should be able to cover a wider area, in shorter time and with wider detection range / capabilities right?

    "AERO INDIA 2015"

They don't have to do it on their own, but have to take the lead in the project and use ADA or HAL for the design. Only then IAF's or IN's requirements will be implemented from scratch, rather then the flawed way DRDO does it.

India's Future Main Battle Tank (FMBT)

The earlier Tank Ex offer had the problem that it was just an upgrade and such a considerable change obviously is costlier, than upgrading the T72s with some new systems. Not to mention that the Arjun MK1 turret had many things that were not on par with the requirements either, so not going for...

    "AERO INDIA 2015"

No, I mean that IAF don't have to wait till DRDO develops stand off weapons that IAF requires, if they are designing them on their own. That's basically what the navy does as well, looking at their requirement and developing a vessel on their own, while DRDO is basically needed for sub systems...

Indian Navy to acquire 50 drones for intelligence purposes

@SvenSvensonov Can you say something about Bell's Eagle Eye UAV? How is the performance compared to other helicopter like UAVs and is it in use in US forces, if not why?

Budget LIVE: Defence allocation is Rs 2,46,727 crores, says Jaitley

Jaitly said, he had allocated the funds last year and that it's just a matter of the MoD to clear it, the strange thing however is, that for the most part of last year, he was the Defence Minister too, so he had to clear it. Seems like he is trying to distract from delays and not clearing it as...

    "AERO INDIA 2015"

It's nothing more than a concept, most likely for material and windtunnel tests and the final version obviously would have folding wings, since you couldn't use it on fighters otherwise. Check for HOPE / HOSBO or Pilum stand of weapons and you will see similar folding wings. I'm still sad about...

India's Future Main Battle Tank (FMBT)

I'm not talking about an upgrade, but why doesn't DRDO propose a new Tank Ex (MK2) based on the T90 chassis that we licence produce and the Arjun MK2 turret, which we also will produce? Weight should be below Arjun MK1, but with many of the improvements of the MK2 and as I said, if you look at...

MoD uncovered snooping in South Block in February 2014; AK Antony refuses to comment

Apparently the problem is much larger, since that was not the first time infos or documents were leaked, but it continued last year too. Heared that NSA Ajit Doval had warned the current government about this problem in October too, but if I'm not mistaken it was Delhi police that covered up the...

U.S. To Re-Enter Indian Light Copter Contest

Well it defenitely should show them what major mistake they made by scrapping the deal and re-issueing it, instead of fixing it last year already. Now we have to evaluate Bell helicopters for the 3rd time, although they lost once and ran away the 2nd time, because they couldn't comply to...
