Not really. The army conducts it's own assaults and has conducted it's own amphibious landings such as in WW2; North Africa, Italy, Normandy, Philippines, etc., with no Marines even present. At times in the Pacific Theater they conducted joint operations but the Marines didn't spearhead army...

They never left me. Getting irate with some posters on a message board does not compare with the gravity of this situation. My sympathies are with the victims and with Turkey in this. Let's stick to that, please.

I don't know if it is the same blast as the video posted earlier in the thread but this one is also being reported on Russian and American TV as being of one of the suicide bombers detonating his vest. Turkish security at the airport reportedly, acted extremely bravely and undoubtedly prevented...

It makes sense. Gen. Sharif is and has been, the driving force behind turning the Pakistan Army into a more effective counterinsurgency force and away from an overemphasis on conventional war with India which has become less and less likely with time.
