COM BREAK: F-18 with two AGM-84s made short takeoff from Indian carrier

Navy has its own full fledged training program and spares/servicing. Rafale or Super Hornet. Both will have to create new infrastructure and supply chains. Supply chains of IAF cannot be diverted to IN. If the 114 deal would have happened, that would have been a different story. But as of now...

COM BREAK: F-18 with two AGM-84s made short takeoff from Indian carrier

Navy has to fund for 6 Missile Corvette, 8 Multi Role Corvettes, 11 OPVs and 6 SSN along with 40-50 Dhruvs and 6 P8I too in coming immediate future. Cannot afford to have 2 different types.

COM BREAK: F-18 with two AGM-84s made short takeoff from Indian carrier

Initial plans called for 3 squadrons import of 57 airframes. But it has been cut down as a cap on import has been introduced. Less than 30% of CAPEX allocated to Navy can be used for import. And given than MH60R and P8I procurements are still going on, it would be extremely difficult to find the...

COM BREAK: F-18 with two AGM-84s made short takeoff from Indian carrier

The original plans in very early 2000s called for 2 aircraft carriers. One each for East and West. And both aircraft carriers have their own airwing. So the original plan was to buy around 90 Mig29K to raise 4 squadrons. 2 each in East and West. The 43 Mig29K are under Western Naval Command to...

COM BREAK: F-18 with two AGM-84s made short takeoff from Indian carrier

Mig29K will be relieved of carrier duties for sure. But Super Hornets won't do it imo. Two full strength squadrons will first need to be raised for Vikrant, the new carrier. That's around 36-40 airframes. Any further purchase after that and before 2030 can surely start to operate from...

COM BREAK: F-18 with two AGM-84s made short takeoff from Indian carrier

The 26 will be used to raise units for new one. R11. But as per the claims of Boeing so far, it seems F18 will fit on the R33 too.

    Kilo class submarine decommissioned

I wonder how will they test the AIP system on double hulled kilo. Testing it on older Type 209 would have been easier.

NO Sanctions FOR INDIA US provides India with CAATSA waiver for S-400 missile deal with Russia.

US had the most number of proposals for Civil Nuclear industry. But nothing actually happened on the ground. Again I would only say that a lot, I mean a lot of talk ia only there. Nothing concrete actually.

NO Sanctions FOR INDIA US provides India with CAATSA waiver for S-400 missile deal with Russia.

Nothing concrete actually as India is still out of NSG, so any critical tech we want is still actually our of our hands. And it would be intersting for you maybe that India actually imports most of its uranium from Russia and Kazakhstan. There's a deal with Australians but let's see how that...

NO Sanctions FOR INDIA US provides India with CAATSA waiver for S-400 missile deal with Russia.

Checks and balances. West will not want another China. So Pakistan will survive. The only country which will actually want/help India remove the thorn is Russia. It's an extremely long term game now. If you have your own dollars, USA will sell you those blocked AH1Z and F16s with AESA. Indian...

NO Sanctions FOR INDIA US provides India with CAATSA waiver for S-400 missile deal with Russia.

How many bullets were sent in aid after Galwan incident by USA? How many co-development deals have been actually signed between the two nations ? Has USA actually offered it's test facilities to allow India to test it's designs ? America pumping India is a wrong way to put things. Had USA...

NO Sanctions FOR INDIA US provides India with CAATSA waiver for S-400 missile deal with Russia.

Even without the CAASTA and Ukraine conflict, 2027-28 would have been the last time a big defence deal would have been signed with Russia. It has already been in works since long. You will see small deals like some ammunition, some spares , some second hand/stored equipment, etc for a decade...

30 LCA-Tejas Single Seater handed over to IAF: HAL

Let's wait and see where No18 moves out to. Currently at Sulur, it's basically a training/OCU unit. No45 will remain OCU imo. And when in Sulur, it doesn't really concern either Pakistan or PRC.

    Indian Navy News & Discussions

1971 showed the importance of Aircraft Carrier. R11 was used in operations against East Pakistan very effectively. With Malacca, Southern Indian Ocean Region, Gulf region, there are a lot of places for a CBG to find utility.
