Sadiq Khan 'set to win London mayoral race'

Hinduguy I dont think Livingstone has been sober enough for anti-semitism. He did avoid a vital element. Hitler and the Nazis did debate moving Jews elsewhere, including the middle east, but wherever they were sent, the prime motive was to rid Germany of Jews. That is anti-semitic. We all now...

Sadiq Khan 'set to win London mayoral race'

Dr Gupta The London skyline was determined by the vast profits of the London banks. Good thing for London I will admit. Got a lot better with Johnson. As for transport in London, its hard to say. The expansion of London transport is huge, because it has to be, but whether or not this is due...

Sadiq Khan 'set to win London mayoral race'

I dont live in London but like many I visit the capital frequently. To understand the election, you must understand the mayor before Boris Johnson. Ken Livingstone was ( and possibly still is) an alcoholic whose drinking made him incapable of actually doing anything. His recent comments make...

    General Cricket thread

A few years ago I heard Dickie Bird describe Wasim Akram as the fastest he has seen, with the caveat that Michael Holding often offset speed for swing, (and also had an undetectable slower ball) but could be equally as fast. Waqar Younis was certainly a top standard bowler, but had an aggression...

    9 May Parade

Vizier Just up a bit from Red Square is Tsverskaya Ulitsa and it has a display board (huge thing, many meters across and deep, like Piccadilly Circus) which does show such weapons deployed on exercise on a continuous loop. It is fascinating.

    9 May Parade

The May parade is now being planned. Its not that far away now. So, what is expected in the parade? The armata fleet again? Something new? I would appreciate your views.

    General Cricket thread

Sometimes pure speed will do the trick, but there are plenty of batsmen out there who can deal with just speed. Root certainly can. The Wall (Rahul Dravid, one of the most intelligent commentators on cricket in the world today) could certainly deal with pace. Starc as someone mentioned, is...

    General Cricket thread

Mustafizur Rahman... bring him on. I have not clocked him as being a big threat, but test matches are the ultimate proving grounds for such bowlers. Its going to be a good summer gentlemen. A great pity that James Taylor cannot play cricket any more due to illness, he could have been the...

    General Cricket thread

Be good to see you Pakistanis play in England in July and August. Its usually a great atmosphere at the test matches. I'll be there at Old Trafford and the ODI at Trent Bridge. Of course I hope to see Joe Root elegantly take a few centuries off the Pakistani bowlers, and I would really love to...

Washington's Loss, Moscow's Gain? Russia 'Cozying Up' With Pakistan

To really understand Russian geopolitical thinking, even strategic thinking, you must realise that they see themselves at the centre of the world, but have enemies on every border. They do not think Russia is the land of the free, as America considers itself invulnerable. Russia in the last...

    Pakistani Cuisine.

I tried that recipe for naan. It works perfectly. Quiet the best recipe for naan that I have ever come across.

    Mohammad Aamir Returns

Good to see Amir back. I think he was dazzled by the sheer amount of money. Let him get back to honest sport.

Zimbabwe tours Pakistan: Series - May 2015

Menace2society makes a valid point, but it need not go so far as for sport cities to be constructed. I'm a lifelong cricket fan, but I wont go to Pakistan due to it appearing to be unsafe. I use the word appearing as it may or may not be safe. I dont know, I have never been to Pakistan. I have...

So, are you describing the universal combat platform?

2015 Moscow parade rehersal (new stuff , Armata, Kurganets , Boomerang)

The Russians do seem to have defined the "new" tank as armata. It is far from the concept of the armata which would have been a fearsome beast. Now the T14 does appear to have a modified T90 chassis. This in itself is not a bad thing. Its better to evolve a machine when you know what works...

Ah Ras malai I have recently learnt how to make this and was surprised how easy it was and tasted far better than shop bought.

    Picture of the Day

The story of Chacha Kalu moved me to tears. We must remember those who have gone before us, and have been braver than I have ever been. Stand easy old soldier.

Looks like the T90 is going to be paraded.

Amir Khan: I really believe I have his (Mayweather's) number.

I think yes. Amir Khan can do it if he is up to it. He needs to defeat Mayweather on stopping him rather than on points. Mayweather is intent on matching the total of 50 undefeated, so he will fight again, but probably this will be a rematch. Essentially Mayweather played for points, and...

    PAK-BAN Cricket Series 2015

England about to be beaten in Barbados. Awful performance by England. WI must be the weakest team ( although getting stronger) in Test cricket but England are suffering. Oh heck, just as I post, Chandrapaul got bowled!
