    Leaked audio of Shaukat Tareen

This was from two weeks ago. More aid from US will surely follow. In 2010, US gave $150 million for flood relief to Pakistan. Similar or more can be expected from them. As per one WSJ article, international donors have promised upto $500 million already. I would expect this figure to touch a $1...

Through a ‘widely-circulated’ letter: PTI seeks to upset govt-IMF apple cart?

    1) Pakistan was able to make the best deal under the circumstances. Friendly countries were not ready to loan more without collateral because all governments before (including PTI) have borrowed heavily. The assets were priced as per demand and leverage that the seller holds. 2) There were no...

Through a ‘widely-circulated’ letter: PTI seeks to upset govt-IMF apple cart?

There are threads in the 'similar threads' section below to see this. 3) PTI was also on track for utilizing the...

Through a ‘widely-circulated’ letter: PTI seeks to upset govt-IMF apple cart?

Miftah Ismael under-reported new foreign debt by at least $7 Billion in the budget 2022-23 document.

This is not the only reason for India's good fortune with investments. Geopolitically, Pakistan has not positioned itself favorably to gain from the China+1 strategy of the western bloc. India, Vietnam and other countries have played this game well. Vietnam is a good comparison for Pakistan...

Son of Bajwa allegedly spotted with Son of Amit Shah in Dubai Stadium

This is not possible. India uses the money generated by cricket as a diplomatic tool to barter 'normalization' with Pakistan. As long as asymmetric war from the Pakistani side is kept in play, India will not relax its leverage no matter how little it may tangibly amount to. :coffee:

Miftah Ismael under-reported new foreign debt by at least $7 Billion in the budget 2022-23 document.

Pakistan needs about $10 billion in FDI every year to sustain a growth rate of 5%-6% without running into BoP crisis. This has been India's trick for a while now despite the fact that both countries suffer from same productivity and operational inefficiency concerns.

Pakistan considering opening trade with India

The proximity of Indian Punjab to Pakistani Punjab will make it a good deal for both sides because of less transport cost.

    Flood Response

Pakistan will need the same level of international support that it was able to gather during the 2010 floods. The US followed by UK were the most significant donors during that period. I believe that at least $1 billion will be necessary to restore and reboot the rural economy
