Hi Guys ,

INR has recovered Rs 1.58 against USD Which is an appreciation of 2.30% since the end of Nov 2016. Is it going to be a repeatation of Vajpayee era where Rupee recovered sharply against USD in last 2 years of Vajpayee era. Strengthening of Rs by value of Rs 1 means decrease in foreign debt by Rs 10000 crore atleast.

Pl discuss.

Whats been the change in Forex Reserve during this period?

Now i feel dumb :(
there is no such thing being dumb, you just learn new things every day. When you seek to do things in a better way it is called progress. There is no perfect way we keep refining and progressing as time passes by.

India's external debt was 485 USD which came down to about 473 USD in Jan 17. I rupee appreciation is a saving of Rs 48000 crore. CHeers guys and let us hope that It reaches Rs 60 in 2019 when Modi saheb goes for vote once again. I expect It to be less than Rs 50 by 2024.

To much appreciation is not good for exports and remittances.
Actually its more of a dollars appreciations with respect to other currency.

Our currency is about 380% lower valued. We need appreciation. Our soaring debt will go down and we shall be able to import oil cheaply. These are big benifits. We are not going to loose anything till our currecy appreciate 10%.
