Afghans receive first Black Hawk helos

What a waste! Will probably be used for VIP transport duties for the countless warlords that actually run Afghanistan.

53 Black Hawks and

Really sucks that i'm paying for something with little to no benefit over any time frame.
U and me both. With little to no support/maintenance facilities combined with the lack of professionalism and training in the Afghan Air Force, these black hawk helicopters will waste away. With no long term gain this is basically tax payer money down the drain.

Good. Taliban will use them, just like all the gears and Humvees. Gr8 going US/ Afghan Cooperation. Taliban is being strengthen by US.

Americans plan on staying in Afghanistan for a long time. That is why they are replacing Russian equipment with their own. In this way spares and maintenance contracts shall ensure continued US job security back home.

What is the US motive behind supplying so many fighting choppers to Afghanistan?

Yes! with patience even monkeys can learn to fly, we can laugh all we want now, but soon it will become a problem in our back side. We must not take it lightly. We will need to re-enforce our radar coverage on the Afghan border and deploy more interceptors as well as anti-air defence systems. Luckily we produce our own manpads which should be enough to counter this kind of threat.

Will end up like Spartans.... in scrapyard... sold for 1 $ per kg...

MI17s..

And no facilities for maintenance.... Nor trained personal... or any nfra or economy to support...

or somehow these copters may end up in ISIS hands. Now whether they can fly them I do not know.
Have you heard the accusations by Karzai?

Trump can say all he wants but the fact is that GHQ and the Pentagon are on the same page. For the past 5 years we've seen Petraeus and other NATO leaders praise Pakistan. Once in a while some jacka** from US congress talks crap against Pakistan and that somehow decides the state of our relationship.

The US is still more of an ally and less of an enemy. It'll stay like that for the foreseeable future.
i dont think so
military and political leadership has simply been bribed into afghan war, and drones attack

since the bribes have ended under trump...the truth is becoming visible

transport planes is not an issue. we do need strong surveillance and simple deterrence
i think we need a JV for medium range SAM/radar among other things that can be developed cheaper and in numbers

Karzai is a bitch, I don't have time to waste on that liar

Troll alert! too much video games I suppose!

@Kaptaan : Just caught another one! :P

What do you mean video games? The Taliban are saying if we get AA guns it will be a blood bath for this airforce. I am just taking it one level up. Are you forgetting the Stingers? It won't be Pakistan supplying any Anzas, but the Russians might want to take vengeance for the Stingers. Look further North.
