What's new

Afghanistan is to recieve 150 MD 530 helis

If these helis are misused then some cheap and proven remedies are available. This light piece of *** does not have much to protect itself.

Pashtoon vs non-pashtoon, you are speaking balloonies my friend.
This is an imposed conflict by the neighbour.
:o::o:
we asked US to bombs AFG? we asked Mujhideen to fight among themselves to create space for Taliban? did we ask Soviets to enter AFG? how we are to be blamed?
AFG soil has been used against Pakistan during communist period to disturb balochistan and even now...

You are Pashtoon, who look like Uzbek!

No comments :D but I will be proud to look an Afghan Uzbek, what is the big deal in that ;)

You are going tangent now my friend ;) the topic at hand is the imposed war by the neighbour in Afghanistan post 2001 period.

A resistance could not survive let alone control have of country for 16 years against combined might of USA and NATO if isn't supported by majority of population :)

That's why they hold so much ground!!

They have spent tens of billions on Afghanistan had over 100,000 soldiers

What will the eventual delivery of these helicopters do that more troops, more weapons and more money did not do

You know I wish well for Afghanistan, but you need to accept that regardless of the support they get on this side of the border, there is no denying that there is support amongst some Afghans for the Taliban for perceived and genuine grievances. It's up to your government and people now to decide how they want to tackle this, whether they believe they can ever achieve a military victory, or a political compromise is something that would be more feasable.

Regardless, it should be up to the Afghans to decide the future of their country, no foreign country or power should have that right.

Trump means business and he is going to win this one through brute force.

Major major procurement ongoing for the Afghan air force. Talis days are numbered.

It is a big order, but it's not enough to win anything. You need political reconciliation in the end and an eventual end to even partial foreign occupation. I wish our Afghan brothers and sisters would see their country achieve a lasting peace that brings about prosperity. I don't see it happening anytime soon, or with more helicopters and dead talibs.

Good for India. Pakistan will be more occupied on Afghan borders.
Can you please explain in detail how it is good for India and why pakistan will be more occupied on afghan border?

an earlier report said that these are the most dangerous helicopters to fly in Afghanistan and afghan forces don't want to fly it.
they can't fly very high and Afghanistan is already at very high altitude. afghan forces call them suicide helis.
only reason for giving them is that they are cheap.

Afghan Air force needs some dedicated CAS jet, more in the lines of L-159 or Yak-130.

How long before these helicopters find there way to the local markets sale

Like previously Taliban armed by Afghan army weapons sold to them

Now we have making of Taliban airforce
Bizarre land

are these choppers better than B 52/F 15s & and tomahawks in killing insurgents
