Ministry of Defence Production reports in its Year Book 2015-16 that DGMP has signed a project for 'Indigenous development of advanced MLRS'.

Another project signed includes the indigenous development & production of MLRS Rockets.

That was much needed Artillary System,a satuartion attack from MLRS can seriously disrupt enemy efforts towards war.

So in future we can expect upto 400km range rocket systems just like Chinese have in PLA.

Point to be noted: they are focusing on systems that deliver max fire power with min time and effort. They expect a war to be swift, short and brutal. With entire batteries of indigenously produced MLRS, some of whom could potentially be nuclear, advancing Indian columns will face a wall of fire and get decimated completely. South Asia saw the largest battle of tanks previously. In case of war, it might see the largest exchange (or at least a one sided attack) of MLRS firepower. I shudder to think of the resulting death and destruction.

Wonder what stops them from developing Arty guns.

maybe Buying off the shelf is cheaper ?
I wonder our Indigenous MLRS is based on PLA A-100 which we bought few years back

Plz don't put "nuclear masala" in every post.

A100 will most likely be used to make this system.

I am not trying to spice things up. The possibility of nuclear artillery has been discussed previously on the forum by seniors.

I think TOT already done with turkey in the recent past.
