I could not find a thread where i could post some of the problems i found with the forum, so i created this thread. Should you guys deem it fit, i think it should be a sticky where the users can post the problems they face in the forum. Technical problems that is.

My problem is the 'upload paistani photos for free' bar in the top of the forum gives a lot of problem. When i am using cyber cafe or old browsers, and sometimes even in my own PC, the bar expands a LOT, and the entire forum kinda shifts to the right, then you gotta constantly scroll to the right a lot to click the 'last post' button. Either that or keep on refreshing the page till the problem sorts out.

This is a problem in defence talk forum too. They have the same forum layout and the same bar gives the same problem.

Webby, could you either shift the bar to the left or remove it or whatever?

The solution for this problem for low resolution, dial up guys, is being worked on.

Thanks.

malay use the dial up skin for better browsing to fix this problem. People using latest IE shouldn't have any problem with the default style.

I have the latest firefox mate, and i have a 512 kbps connection, yet this problem persists.

I have query/suggestion.
Whenever I report some one, and it's acted upon, I get a alert that reported post has been resolved or unfortunately it's not. What does this mean first of all. Does "reported post has been resolved" means it's deleted or modified or vice versa.
Second I as a poster don't know which of the reported post has been resolved or unfortunately it's not as we receive fixed length massage alert. I think if it's not possible to provide the link due to post getting deleted, at least deleted massage should be added the alert, so that person reporting the post can understand something. It will be a good feedback system from moderator end also and will ensure better two way communication between both. Further it will add into poster knowledge what kind of post should be reported and what kind of post not, leading to reduction in reported posts over a period of time. Thank you.

Does all such notifications leave a name?

The Eagle? I guess he is ticking that box which notifies the users about the resolution of complaints

I think other MODs including myself don't use that option to inform users of whatever action was taken

No not all posts in which I have received intimation, The Eagle was not quoted, most of the time I quote you and waz Bhai. However is there a policy to not have two way communication? I mean that could help us in understanding what sort of posts have higher probability to get the action, so needless reporting could be reduced a lot.

And notification doesn't leave any name, whose post resolved and who resolved it.

From what I understood

When you report a post, its there in the Moderation queue and @The Eagle being a new MOD is ticking the option which creates a notification for users who had reported posts.

You mostly tag me n waz but when you make a report, its moderated by all moderators depending on who is active and The Eagle is most active these days

ticking the option which creates a notification

Agreed.

@RISING SUN while reporting any post, do mention the reason for reporting instead of "Post Reported". Also, it is not necessary that every reported post to be deleted but there is certain criteria to evaluate the quote. Go through the Forum Rules and understand that which post has to be reported to the Mods.

That's what I wanted to understand whether only simple word like Post reported is suffice or anything else has to be mentioned. Can you pls share a example of such text? Thank you.

did you do MTech from IITB?
No I didn't study there, rather I became part of IIT Bombay family by organizing TechFest. My specialty was in robotics. I did MBA from Mumbai and now working since last five years.
