REVEALED: The BAE-HAL Joint ‘Advanced Hawk’

is it possible to attach a decent radar and BVR missiles to fbat Hawk ?

You a re trying to over do a 1960 system.

It has had a glorious life till now , and is exceptionally good for advanched jet training.
May be dropping some small guided munitions against an opposition without any modern manpad, or Air force.

They can only be used for CAS role....once air superiority is achieved and Sam units neutralised!!

Go though the performance of the BAE HAWK MK132, it barely goes more than Mach 0.8 At high altitude, modern MANPADs would shoot it down in CAS role.

It doesn't meet requirements to actively contribute to a war effort. It although can be used in low intensity conflicts

So its a trainer jet that can actually be deployed in wars as well?

Fantastic, we can deploy all of these on the Pakistan border and relocate all the MKI to the Chinese border. :-)

but if it can be equipped with 100 km range BVR and Data linked with AWACS can act as pint defence A/C supplementing LCA

With all this , it would need strengthening of the airframe, more proper sensors and a more powerful engine.

All this will bring up the cost of Armed HAWK in comparison to LCA MK1. And at that point it looses its case.

Food for thought....attack helicopters have top speed of less than 300kmph....they technically can be brought down by a rocket launcher...but that doesn't mean they don't have a role in armour support!
PS: A10 arguably the best cas aircraft, has a top speed of 850 kmph at an altitude of 5000ft....!!

Come on doc, A 10 is more than that. It can be classified as a chain gun with pretty much indestructible wings with physically redundant controls. Every thing on that plane make it to take heavy pounding. Even the engine mounts where designed such that even in a case of heavy ground fire, the engines would survive the sortie.

It's simply indestructible....I call it a flying tank:D...!
It's only aircraft I would want from US!!

It is developed precisely for that role!!!

Even in the recent wars with the extra terrestial bichhu it was the only thing that was able to penetrate its armor.

Just imagine 100 of these supporting armour formations and ground troops...:D

Do you want to spend the entire ammunition budget on a single offensive strike? they can empty the entire clip in 16sec or so... And 100 such planes wow that's a lot of lead flying down range.... I can imagine the enemy going "Nope Nope Nope. FTS, I dinn sign up for this. I am going home."
