Pre-emptive attack on Iran bill is active in the US House

The title of the bill tells the tale: a bill "To authorize the use of the United States Armed Forces to achieve the goal of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons."

You will often see potentially important pieces of legislation languish in the US House. A bill will remain active, meaning that it can be brought to the Floor at any time. But it flies just under the radar. Other times the language floats around Washington for years until a “crisis” necessitates its activation and passage.

As we know well, what eventually became the PATRIOT Act — one of the single greatest attacks on civil liberties in US history — started out and spent much of its early life as a sugar-plum fairy dancing in neocon fantasies. Then came 9/11 and it was dusted off and imposed on the American people. And the United States has never been — and may never be — the same. Either way, these measures are important if seldom seen.

So it may well be with H.J.Res. 10, introduced in the House just as the new Congress began at the beginning of this month. This legislation, introduced by Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL), is as it appears: an authorization for the President to use military force against Iran. But it is much worse than that.

Why so? Because it specifically authorizes the president to launch a pre-emptive war on Iran at any time of his choosing and without any further Congressional oversight or input. The operative sentence in the resolution reads, “The President is authorized to use the Armed Forces of the United States as the President determines necessary and appropriate in order to achieve the goal of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.” (Emphasis added).

President Trump — and, importantly, his entire national security team — has been extraordinarily aggressive toward Iran, repeatedly threatening that country both at the negotiating table and on the battlefield. H.J.Res 10 would be just the blank check the Administration craves to realize such threats.

And thanks to the ongoing US and allied saber-rattling in the Persian Gulf, tensions continue to escalate. At the end of this month, the UK, US, and allied military forces will take part in operation “Unified Trident,” a joint exercise in the Persian Gulf that will simulate a military confrontation with Iran.

How would Washington respond if a bill was active in the Iranian parliament authorizing war on the United States and the Iranian navy began conducting joint exercises with the Chinese in the Gulf of Mexico simulating an attack on the United States?

Wow i'm so scared right now :(

But seriously the Wrestling World cup in due in the next persian month here in my City (kermanshah) [yay....]

I hope they don't let the US team inside with the US-ban , there should be no exemptions

Persians did the terrible mistake to launch their nuke program without thinking of the consequences and overestimating their own capabilities. After all, not every Muslim nation is Pakistan. You need to have balls of steels in order to pursue the nuke program as it is a terrible red line for most nations to see Muslims getting their hands on this forbidden tech. Pakistan has lost many top generals, scientist, sleuths , huge economic burden and sanctions, covert and overt terrorism faced by whole nation for decades.

Its a huge burden to carry and Iran rather pursing its own, should have come into some sort of defense pact with Pakistan, of course it would have required surrendering some sort of sovereignty. After all UK is dependent on America for its nuke missile force.
Irrelevant, Iran doesn't face the same Nuclear threat Pakistan does.

soon we going to find out how much mistake Iran as done by starting nuclear program which for your information by UNSCR 2231 recognized Iran as nuclear power .

what does a country must fullfill to be recognized as a "nuclear power"?

to have nuclear capable weapons?
to have technology to enrich uranium?
...
...
..
?

its time for Iran to follow the path which other nations have done to secure there borders

what does a country must fullfill to be recognized as a "nuclear power"?
first and most important one .
1: full fuel cycle . meaning from mining it out of grand than your disposal waste . this cycle it long time and very hard to master . either India or Pakistan have full fuel cycle . India has part fuel cycle .

2: onece you master that the the second part it will be separation and conversion to different nuclear material and big part sestaning it and keeping it in same condition as been ............

3: +++++++
4
5
6
+
++

so is just not building first Gen nuclear device won't make full nuclear power country .
there is a lot more to it

We are now using Laser centrifuges. This is just to give you some idea so to where you are in the food chain.

fool Iran been using laser in its enrichment program since 1977 .
when we purchased the laser program it from France

You close mine in the blink of an eye.

Kidding as in what? Highlight with what you dont agree?

Why should it be closed? It concerns Pakistan own security and national interests as well. Last thing we want is destabilization in our western border.
A little too late for that

iran is americas undeclared ally
