This ruling is regarding Muslim IAF personnel not Sikhs. For clarifications one can read from the link below.

Law is discriminatory to sikhs and muslims both. Freedom is an important gift for the people. Curtailing basic rights is not cool here.

Sikhs are allowed to keep beard so spare them your sympathies.

I don't know, but have never seen a practising sikh without turban and beard, but there are plenty of moslems who doesnot sport beard. May be that's why.

Beards are Recommended not compulsory , but it should be person's choice, beards has nothing to do with Religious Extremism and it is stupid to associate both .

And I need to say, you must revise your definition of being secular. It means religion has no place in working of state, if beard is an obstacle to effective functioning of IAF (which is a state functionary), it must not be allowed.

Moreover having beard is not compulsory for being a muslim. If yes, will you allow us to denounce clean shaved muslim men of their minority status?

Order by the Supreme Court of India.
The officers case was dismissed by the highest court in the land.
Either their Lawyers effed them pretty bad or their case was lost on merit.
They have to deal with it, either way.
