Cutting all ties with Pakistan will be very good for Bangladesh says AL leaders

Awami League leader Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim has backed the call to sever diplomatic ties with Pakistan. He says the absence of a Pakistani mission in Bangladesh would leave no scope to brew conspiracies here.

পাকিস্তানের সঙ্গে বাংলাদেশের কূটনৈতিক সম্পর্ক রাখার কোনো যৌক্তিকতা নেই বলে মত দিয়েছেন আওয়ামী লীগের সিনিয়র নেতারা।

দেশের মানুষের প্রয়োজনে আরো কয়েকবার প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার প্রধানমন্ত্রী থাকা প্রয়োজন বলে মন্তব্য করে দলটির সাধারণ সম্পাদক সৈয়দ আশরাফুল ইসলাম বলেছেন, ‘এখন ২০ দলীয় জোট ভাঙছে; ভবিষ্যতে বিএনপিও ভাঙবে।’

আওয়ামী লীগের প্রেসিডিয়াম সদস্য মোহাম্মদ নাসিম বলেন, আপনাকে ২০১৯ সালের নির্বাচনে পরাজিত করা হবে। আসুন যুবলীগ, ছাত্রলীগ, মহিলা লীগ সহ আমরা সবাই শেখ হাসিনার নেতৃত্বে চূড়ান্ত জয়ের জন্য প্রস্তুত হই।

সোমবার রাজধানীর সোহরাওয়ার্দী উদ্যানে বঙ্গবন্ধুর স্বদেশ প্রত্যাবর্তন দিবসে আওয়ামী লীগ আয়োজিত সমাবেশে দলীয় প্রধান শেখ হাসিনার বক্তব্যের আগে কেন্দ্রীয় নেতারা বলেন, ‘শেখ হাসিনার নেতৃত্বে সর্বক্ষেত্রে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে দেশ।’

মুক্তিযুদ্ধের শহীদ ও বঙ্গবন্ধুকে নিয়ে কটুক্তি এবং মানুষ পুড়িয়ে মেরে মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধ করা বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসন বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার বিচার হওয়া উচিত বলে মন্তব্য করে আওয়ামী লীগ নেতারা বলেন, ‘বাংলাদেশে পাকিস্তানের কূটনৈতিক মিশন না থাকলে এদেশে বসে পাকিস্তানি কূটনীতিকরা বাংলাদেশের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করতে পারতো না।’

আওয়ামী লীগের প্রেসিডিয়াম সদস্য শেখ ফজলুল করিম সেলিম বলেন, আজ পাকিস্তানের সঙ্গে বাংলাদেশের কূটনৈতিক সম্পর্ক রাখার কোনো যৌক্তিকতা নেই। পাকিস্তানের এক কূটনীতিক বাংলাদেশের মাটিতে বসেই বাংলাদেশের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করেছে। বাংলাদেশ সৃষ্টি হয়েছে পাকিস্তান এখনো মেনে নিতে পারেনি। এখনো ষড়যন্ত্র করছে।

আওয়ামী লীগের উপদেষ্টামণ্ডলীর সদস্য সুরঞ্জিত সেনগুপ্ত বলেন, জোট ভাঙে আপনার আর দেউলিয়া হয় আওয়ামী লীগ। এসব কোথা থেকে এনেছেন? যদি এমন অবস্থায় চলে তাহলে এখন তো শুধু আপনার জোট ভাঙছে কয়েকদিন পর দলও ভাঙবে।

নেতারা আরো বলেন, ‘পাকিস্তানের হয়ে বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসন বেগম খালেদা জিয়া বাংলাদেশের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করছেন। তাই খালেদা জিয়ার বাংলাদেশে থাকার কোনো অধিকার নেই।’

I honestly hope this comes true. In total agreement with the above. bangladesh means to Pakistan as much as the north pole does.

We should still acknowledge though that ZAB and gangs lust for power was the reason we lost Bengal.
