1,200,000 km2 ？？you wish! China's forest coverage just exceeded 22% recently,lower than global average,you can check google earth,in inner Mongolia,except Hulun Buir which amounts to a bit over 100000km2 as prairie,the rest of inner Mongolia are either desert and arid lands or massively exploited lands by agriculture

China will nowadays be put to the shame compared to your japland,man,we cut trees too much in the past,fortunatelyour forest coverage has be recovering in recent 2 decades,from maybe less than 10% in 1980s to present 22%,and it is still recuperating fast,hopefully in the future it can be up to 33% as the USA,33% for forest coverage is just a global average number,whereas that of japans seems to be over 80%!the highest of the world
