What are the dreams of China’s young graduates?

With the number of fresh graduates emerging from universities rising every year, the Chinese government has been focusing on increasing ‪#‎employment‬ opportunities.

However, what are the dreams of these graduates and what are their expectations as they kick-start their professional lives?

A new ‪#‎survey‬ by 51job Inc., one of China’s biggest human resource service providers, titled The Employment Situation of University Graduates 2014, sheds fresh light on the desires of China’s ‪#‎graduates‬.

The report is based on a survey of more than 100,000 students and 613 companies nationwide.

Only 9.7% of those surveyed reported that they were seeking a starting salary of RMB 10000 per month ($1600) or more. A bulk of the students were quite content with making much lesser.

I think, the reasonable threshold of salary per month for Chinese graduates would be at least 10000 yuan.

10000 per month is enough in most cities except tier 1.

How do people buy BMWs on less than 10000 yuan?

Chinese graduates should pay attention to Chinese (electric) cars. Supporting domestic brands and affordable at the same time. BMW/Benz are for the ones with $.

I hope so. But they still love the foreign brand. Home made brand would lower the market price to a much acceptable level, to all people.

How many graduates will buy BMW in China? You still don't answer my question. What do you mean by giving me the data of your country?

How many US graduates will buy Bugatti Veyron?

While at first it might have sounded like a snipe at China by me it actually may have uncovered something that people (including myself) don't realize.

I think the payscale in China bumps up drastically with experience while the scale here goes up more gradual.

If it doesn't the gap between the "haves" and "have nots" in China must be extremely wide.

If the average car costs say 150000 yuan then who is buying all the cars? It must be people with several years of experience since it seems unaffordable to a college grad unless they double their pay quickly.

Edit:
Ok it looks like the top selling car is the Ford Focus at about 100000 yuan. That's more like it. That's less than a 10000 monthly salary.

BMW still expensive for Chinese middle-class family,>250,000RMB.
Those chinese young boy owe a BMW coz usually has a rich parents or born in rich family. Below 10,000 also can buy BMW but many years later to save money, or after become a richman.

Even for the US, it's unreasonable for a recent college grad to buy a BMW. College debt, taxes, rent, and living expenses don't leave enough left to splurge on luxuries.

The average BMW owner in the US is 49 years old. Let's keep some perspective.

@Peter C
Most of Chinese middle-class family choose a 10,000RMB car including my parents and brother. I think car price becoming cheaper in china automobile market, specially some foreign brand car companies set factory in China.

I believe Chinese car manufacturers can take some cues from Chinese mobile phone manufactures on brand image turnaround.

I didn't mean to imply that college students buy BMW's right out of school.
I was wondering if the number of cars on the road is increasing...who are the buyers.

But the average age for almost EVERY car make in the US is over 49. So you can't really use that,

Using that you'd think not many young people have cars. Of course this is not true.
