What's new

For those Lahoris who hate their metro bus!

Its just jealousy and envy if they speak against any development work anywhere in the country. These people were also opposing motorway project . I mean seriously they or their leader motto is na kaam karhein ghey khud na karne dein ghey

We only oppose because of messed up priorities and lack of transparency... anything else thought is one's own stupidity...

and yes Karachi deserves it on priority. I ran a thread, all agreed on it..

Can't have this in Karachi. Transport is run like mafia here, and hey you don't mess with Bhatta mafia.

priority should be dharna long march lol

I was against the bus version of it but i am soo for the train version of it. Infact when they were building the metro pathway i repeatedly said that the same focus should be given on a mass transit project not a bus system and since now N is starting the project i will say hurrah as Pakistan needs an inter-city transit system. glad to see peshawar also getting one.

hahaha

Bhai

you missed "revolution" and "Azadi".
azadi /stunami/tabdleei/naya pakistan/ no corruption terrorism in 30 days blah blah loghoon ko banahoo bewakoof sabz bhaag dhika k

Btw here is .

KARACHI:
There were a lot of things Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had to do in his one-day visit to Karachi. He had several meetings lined up, one of which was at Governor House with a special announcement for the residents of Karachi.

On Thursday, the prime minister announced that they would launch the Metro Bus Project in the city and will have Rs15 billion set aside for it. “We have decided to take over the green line project in the city,” he said. “The metro bus service will start on the same pattern as Lahore.”

The green, yellow and red line projects are part of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridors that have already been announced by the Sindh government. In the current financial budget, the provincial government has also allocated Rs3 billion for the green line corridor that is supposed to start from Surjani Town and go all the way to Merewether Tower.

The prime minister (PM), however, categorically explained that the green line project will be completed with funding as a federal project. He said that he wanted to hurry up and finish work on this 25-kilometre corridor which would ease the traffic congestion in the city.

All aboard: Karachi’s metro bus project to run along same way as Lahore – The Express Tribune

Consider yourself an investor going abroad...on a business trip...what would you think when you see high rise buildings, transport system, mega road projects etc....first impression would definitely be, these ppl have potential. Now consider Delhi, Mumbai, Shanghai, Beijing, Tehran, Riyadh etc. These cities are the economic hubs of their respective coutries. Point is, major cities are the face of a country and development there surely helps in pulling foreign investment
Fuel costs are one the biggest recurring expense for any non oil producing country. Imagine smooth flow of traffic...hundreds of cars getting stuck in traffic and the fuel lost...road projects eventually help in cutting state expenses and money/fuel saved can be used elsewhere, power generation for e.g.

Metro bus kind of projects are short term projects....they finish in a yr or so and couple of such projects can help a political govt in expanding/retaining their vote bank

see the budget document. priority clearly lies on health and education... 53% of the budget went to human development.

Please dig it up and export to Karachi.

We'll ever be thankful.

As you do not like it, rather hate it.

So why keep it?

Any strong reasons why Karachi hasn't started work on a Metro project? Security? Low fund allocation to Sindh?

its not the project but the insatiable greed for commission and haram khori that we oppose
