How important are the Gurkha to the UK, Indian army and the other armies around the world ? are the pay the same as there in country counter parts ?

Same pay as any other soldier for the rank, there was a problem a few years back though with some of them settling here and pension rights but Im pretty sure that that has all been resolved now and they are entitled to the full pension/right to live in the UK.

Not sure they have for some but not all, I am afraid it will only create more anti immigration sentiment for Nepalese people in the UK. How are they treated in India any one know

Majority are depending on how long they have served.

I doubt that I was reading the citizen ship application in the uk it has a free pass for Gurkha I have heard but not sure it gives free housing to widows as well. I know India gives free Health care to old Gurkha vets

That is what my relatives in the UK said, they maybe wrong.
