What's new

She has a Chinese mother and a Pakistani father.

Seriously, just stop using the word chinky.

Would you compliment a black person by calling them a n*gger?

Would you compliment a dark-skinned person by saying they have "n*gger skin"?

The word chink is racist abuse according to every dictionary on Earth.

Brother sorry if it offended you but we usually use that in a cute way when referring to someone with those eyes ! :(

I think even I've been called a Cheena Baba - a Chinese Doll (male) - during my youth when my eyes looked less like that of the average Pakistani & more like that of a Chinese but I don't think anyone was saying that in a racist manner before all my Aunts & Uncles lathering my face with kisses ! :ashamed:

I said Chinky eyed:

Urban Dictionary: Chinky eyes

Chinky eyes
someone who has eyes that indeed are small like chinnese people eyes
look at my chinky eyes in this picture.

wow look at her chinky eyes!

Like I said I didnt know it was offensive! Never called anyone Chinky...just the eyes...whatelse do you call it?

Sigh, I thought it was only the Indians here who referred to us by this incredibly racist term.

You're our friends and allies so I'll let it go, but please remember in the future that this word is explicitly banned by the forum rules.

And this word is classified as racist abuse by every dictionary in existence.

it would be interesting to see. on my flight from delhi to taipei, i actually ran in to an older indian-taiwanese family. the teenage boy looked more indian, the younger girl looked more taiwanese.

.02

Are you saying that you are not one of a kind. That there are actually other Taiwanese/Indian families......

In your estimate, how many are Taiwanese/Chinese female/ Indian female as compare to the other way around. Also, did you guys have two wedding ceremonies.

Its sad I have to read this, racism has no place in this forum.

Agreed.

I would never call a person that word...sounds weird neither have I ever heard of it....

But I always call those eyes that because that is what I have heard of them...Whatelse are they called?

Sorry once again! but, just for references what do you call that cute kinda eye? Calling it Chinese eye sounds racist on its own coz even Japanese and Korean have those cute eyes not big and marble looking like ours :(

East Asian eyes?

You can say what you like, I don't report posts in any case.

Just bear in mind that using this word in front of any East Asian person (especially Chinese) will earn you an instant fight. So only say it to them if you are actually looking for a fight, because that is the most effective way to start one.

Ahh I see...I removed my posts!

Pakistani + White = South European or Middle Easterner looking kids

Pakistani + East Asian = either very East Asian looking kids or South Asian looking kids with some East Asian influence

Many this would also make sense for some Indians.

Pakistani + White = high caste people.

Pakistani + East Asian = ST people.

I think @Chinese-Dragon hates me now ! :cray:

Bro, you should account for the cultural sensibilities as well - We don't have any Chinese looking people so against whom would we 'develop' a racial slur against ?

Pakistanis don't even use that word because most have never heard of it & even Pakistanis who have heard it because they are fluent in English don't know that it has racist connotations because there aren't many Chinese we interact with on a daily basis to know what is socially considered impolite or even racist & what isn't because one doesn't otherwise look up every word in the English Dictionary as it is ! :(

Sorry if it offended you !

How about this girl. Can anyone guess her background?

In the UK, that word means a Chinese restaurant. But it is a slur in the US.

Only when talking about a restaurant.

When used against a person, especially in reference to their eyes, it is ALWAYS racial abuse.

If you don't believe me, find a Chinese person in the UK and see if they are happy or angry about being called that.
