Kindly stop wasting my time from quoting or mentioning me esp when you refuse to read the other end of the discussion or simply cant comprehend it

Where is it written that the name Bharat came from outside. Legendary Emperor Bharata's capital lied in Kuru region(in Uttar Pradesh).

DO.YOU.EVEN.KNOW.HOW.TO.READ? troglodyte?

That separatist group that also has ties with terrorist group represent of WHAT? percentage % of the moro civilian people? And does this separatist group, a part of the DOMINANT GOVERNMENT and CULTURE in the capital of the COUNTRY? And does that unknown percentage % that you have yet to give has enough sway of the masses the warrant to change the name of the country?

This, this is what I'm talking about. The philippines is too heavily influenced by the west via culture and religion. To effectively replace the said country's name, you have to replace the local "Superior"(take note of the quotation mark) culture and instill your own replacement. You don't name a heavily populated catholic latino country with a chinese name. Even if china had a colony there once, the Chinese culture in that example country would be just a footnote.
READ IT.

There is a big anti imperialist crowd in the Philippines and many Filipino historians who attack and criticize Spanish and American rule. Thats why the American bases were forced to close in the 1990s. Don't pretend they don't exist.

Who do you respect more, King Philip II or Rajah Sulayman? King Philip II's colonizers enslaved the native people of the Philippines, instituted a racist caste system, called the natives by a racial slur, raped the natives, killed all the native leaders and abused and colonized them for 300 years.

Rajah Sulayman fought against those colonizers of King Philip II.

Muslims have Arab names. I don't see why Indonesians are excluded in criticism.

Indonesian Muslims use both Arabic derived names and native names. I didn't know Sukarno was an Arabic name.

Ohh these Pakistanis and their identity crisis! lool :D

the term 'India' may have been given to us by foreigners. But then again most of the ancient civilisation's names are given by foreigners.

Apart from Pakistan, which is a by product of a British agent's brain farts :P

Where, P - Punjab, A - Afghania, K - Kashmir, S - Sindh and don't really know what TAN stands for. This theory is so flawed because Afghania is an independant country and they don't even control half of Kashmir :P Plus where is B for Balochistan? loool :D

I believe you either didnt understand my post (despite putting it up 2x) THAT yes Bharat is a legendary name....or you are just trolling....Either way I reported your post for trolling even when I agree with you:

The name India is derived from Indus, which originates from the Old Persian word Hinduš. The latter term stems from the Sanskrit word Sindhu, which was the historical local appellation for the Indus River. The ancient Greeks referred to the Indians as Indoi (Ινδοί), which translates as "the people of the Indus".

The geographical term Bharat, which is recognised by the Constitution of India as an official name for the country, is used by many Indian languages in its variations.

The eponym of Bharat is Bharata, a theological figure that Hindu scriptures describe as a legendary emperor of ancient India. Hindustan was originally a Persian word that meant "Land of the Hindus".

So....we CALL OURSELVES PAKISTANI...you jealous Indoi (accepted from what Persians called you)

@Wholegrain

He did fight for his land against the colonialists. But Philipines was under the Arabized rulers only for 150years and was an Indianized kingdom for 500 years before that.Today's Philipinos who are very catholic may not prefer a muslim sounding name. Even if they need a change, it should be something neutral.

how about; 20 Dolla, Make You Holla!

The Rig Veda knows of Bharata only as an ancestor of contemporary dynasties, tribes and clans. There is nothing in the Rig Veda about Bharata the person, let alone Bharata the emperor. There is absolutely no mention of any wars that he may have fought, enemies that he vanquished or territories annexed, not even the wealth he may have amassed or gifted.

This clearly indicates that in the primary Vedic scripture the Rig Veda, there is no mention of a country known as Bharat or Bharata or Bharatversha.

The shape of India is described in the 'Mahabharata' which is believed to be a text of around first century AD, as an equilateral triangle, which was divided into four smaller equal triangles. The apex of the triangle is Cape Comorin, and the base is formed by the line of the Himalaya mountains. No dimensions are given, and no places are mentioned.

Another description of India is that of the Nava-Khanda, or Nine-Divisions, which is first described by the astronomers Parasara and Varaha-Mihira, although it was probably older than their time and was later adopted by the authors of several of the Puranas. According to this arrangement, Pdnchdla was the chief district of the central division, Magadha of the east, Kalinga of the south-east, Avanta of the south, Anarta of the south-west, Sindhu-Sauvira of the west, Hdrahaura of the north-west, Madra of the north, and Kauninda of the north-east. But there is a discrepancy between this epitome of Varaha and his details, as Sindhu-Sauvira is assigned to the south-west, along with Anarta. There however is absolutely no agreement among the scholars with regard to deciphering the exact location of Sindhu-Sauvira and different scholar state different locations.

With regard to the detailed lists of the 'Brihat-Samhita' with those of the Brahmanda, Markandeya, Vishnu, Vayu, and Matsya Puranas; although there are sundry repetitions and displacements of names, as well as various readings, yet all the lists are substantially the same. Some of them, however, are differently arranged. All of the Puranas, for instance, mention the Nine Divisions and give their names, but only the Brahmanda and Markandeya state the names of the districts in each of the Nine Divisions; as the Vishnu, Vayu, and Matsya Puranas agree with the Mahabharata in describing only five Divisions in detail, namely, the middle Province and those of the four cardinal points. The names of the Nine Divisions given in the Mahabharata and the Puranas differ entirely from those of Yaraha-Mihira.

At times I really wonder as to why we the Pakistanis have to explain the details of Vedic or Hindu scriptures to the Indians, who misquote the essence of what is said in their own books. It is a shame.

Why did Indonesia abolish its Sultanates after independence unlike Malaysia, which kept its Sultanates? There was Pontianak, Yogyakarta, Aceh.....

And Palembang Sultanates too, all of them still existed but have no power
Nationalist stole them, they want power and money of course

Your not a filipino
Your not a moro
You just reek with muslim agenda.
And your're still wallowing in your own crap that you're drowning in it.

One cannot renam a whole nation on behalf of a petition of a nation. Unless the point you are making is the Moro IS Philippine. Then it will make his point valid. Fact is,this is far from the truth. Moro only represent less than 5% of the whole Philippine, and that is already a generous given. Calling to rename the name of the country on behalf of those 5% (Filipino) is like trying to renam Americas on behalf of the Native American or try to rename Australia on behalf of indegious people. Which is stupid (already a good way to put it)

Even if you are a Moro, at best you can do is not calling yourselves a Filipino, but you have absolutely no right to rename the country as a whole, like it then you can use it, don't like it? Then stop being Filipino

I'm going to ASK you a SIMPLE QUESTION, did you READ IT? The answer can be a YES or a NO.

Why did Indonesia abolish its Sultanates after independence unlike Malaysia, which kept its Sultanates? There was Pontianak, Yogyakarta, Aceh.....

What is the need of maintaining the old system in modern era. China too abolished the Qing Dynasty while the young king Puyi grew up in confinement in his palace.

@KingMamba93 Pakistanis feel jealous that we retained the historical name India while there was nothing called Pakistan before 1947.

what historical name? INDIA ????

And What India retained was only Hindu names for Cities changing their historical names to show their bias against Muslim
