Yes, Japs and Koreans are far far better than us when dealing with westerners, we have a lot of good products, why they are all sold with a cheap price ? Cloth, Shoes are normal things and all made in China, why westerners can attache a brand tag then sell it with a very good price and only leave a small profit for Chinese manufacturing. Think about it twice, we should learn how to brand.
Buying a knowingly much over priced handbag is not a proof of how smart the marketing sales guys are, at least not in most cases.
Buying a knowingly much over priced handbag is merely a statement, a lifestyle statement that aims to associate the buyer somehow to the higher taste of the culture of the seller. E.g. When one buys a LV bag, she intends to show off to the world that she approves, appreciates and admires the style and class of France, or Western European. It is a statement of, to put it bluntly, wannabe and admiration.
Why admiration?
Becus they ( sellers) have higher quality of tech/design ? better lifestyle? better culture? more $$$? better quality of life?
Assume that Nigeria somehow made a handbag that has 3X better quality and style than LV, would most ppl give up LV for those of Nigeria?
NO. 1, Most LV-buying ladies probably dont admire Nigeria to start with, and 2, Nigeria could not made that kind of handbags in the first place because it requires very exquisite taste a cultural reflection of underlying advanced high tech society indeed.
So what are behind all these?
-- sellers higher technologies across the board developed by sellers high IQ population over a long period of time, which are reflected in most items they sell as symbols of a statement on high quality lifestyle and class. you want that? ok, you pay high premiums on that. Most of the premiums are NOT to those marketing dudes, even though in many cases the marketing guys are actually from the same country of the producer.
So buying a knowingly much over priced handbag is fundamentally NOT a marketing issue, NEITHER a so-called EQ issue.
To solve the prob of buying a knowingly much over priced handbag you need to first and foremost improve your quality/style/taste/reputation through fundamental technology researches.
When China becomes so prosperous and technologically advanced that most ppl would admire, whatever handbags, or other high tech, high culture items she produces will sell to the roof even with a regular marketing, or even without how many times you see in telly a Ferrari commercial?
