New Middle East Major Supplier =

TURKEY

This way to Conquer the Middle East ^^

Sure they'll buy, for how long they could keep rolling with cold war era AH-64 junk? :D

I'm being sarcastic this time. Egypt is a flat desert there isn't much room for asymmetric warfare. They could just modernize their AH64 fleet and they would be fine.

It has been stated that turkey gives them a loan to buy arms from Turkey. That's probably the reason they will buy the t-129.
Good move from Turkey by the way.

Which Version has Egypt ?

Thats exactly what will happen , just another BS news.

@revojam seems so bro, If I was them I wouldn't introduce a second type of attack helicopter just yet, unless their experience with AH64 was pretty awful :)

Nah, fvck the free loan. Having money doesn't mean a damn thing if there isn't a need to buy.

They have AH64D Block Is and Block IIs pretty aged though. Combat readiness levels must be even more fvcked than those of HAF. Upgrading these aged platforms to block III level may not be a feasible option.

If there's any chance that Egyptians will buy T129 it's maintenance costs and low combat readiness. Or it might be a political thing, should their relations with the US get fvcked for some reason they lose the spare parts' supply. Who knows...
Ah-64d without longbow radar :)
They don't have longbow MMW radars but they have arrowhead FLIRs which are pretty advanced and much more important.

And when Turkish Armed Forces will get it ?

Actually it will help them in sinaei mountains and they were planning to replace 84 light gazelle helicopters with a light attack helicopter .

I think they will go for a squadron , Egypt had plans already to replace 86 gazelle helicopters and they are trying to move away from USA arms , like 2 years ago when they went for purchasing chinese basic trainers JL-8 under lisence

Well, Gazelle's a piece of sh.t but Sina isn't a mountainous area :) not by our standards anyway :) Since Egypt and it's surrounding area is only consistent with a flat desert They can stick with one type of heavy attack helicopter. On the other hand T129 TUC2 configuration will have avionics that are equal to Apache block III made by Aselsan so it may be worth having a separate supply line for high performance and low maintenance costs.

I must say that they don't have a good procurement policy. Someone should go teach them the meaning of standardization.

The loan given by Eximbank doesn't cover (for now) weapons, so they cannot use it for attack chopper, I think.

Really? Because last time i checked the sole reason Eximbank was giving loan to other countries because its a SSM created project so those not-so-rich countries can buy Turkish defence products(weapons).
