In what the press is calling the highlight match of 2012 London Olympics soccer, Korea beat Japan 2:0 in men's soccer to win a bronze.

It was a brutal and bloody fight, with both sides desperate enough to not lose(A loss to anybody else is acceptable, but not in this match). Soccer players were literally flying in the air and bleeding in the head from the mid air collision and so on.

Can you just make a S. Korean thread?

What a courage but dangerous for other runners who track on the same lane!

Just a single medal yesterday. Didn't medal in women's hammer either. Athletics is killing us.

I won't be surprised if the US has a big lead in both medal counts at the end of this Olympics. Last few days have been very disappointing for Team China.

Its looking very likely. US isn't done medaling yet.

I'm pretty sure this will be the last Olympics US tops the medal table since we are rapidly improving in swimming. Once we close the gap in swimming and athletics, US will be lucky to get close to us. Hopefully we increase our investments in these 2 sports. We had alot of retirements after 2008, so new and inexperienced faces were competing in 2012. I'm also encouraged that we now have finalists in women's field events like shot put, discuss, hammer throw, javelin, mens and women's walking, etc.
We have more medalists in track cycling and rowing. We are getting better in wide variety of sports.

US had a near perfect olympics and we had a relatively poor Olympics (gymnastics, weightlifting, shooting), but we are still very close to the US. We have 37 golds, that would be good enough to win future Olympics I think.

This loss should motivate us to get even better and put more resources into sport to top the medal table again like we did in 2008.

It will always be an unequal battle for the Chinese in this Olympics and future ones. Arch rival the USA has a complimenting mix of athletes where white dudes dominate the pool and black dudes the track. I can see China catching up in the pool but we are not built to run against blacks. Lu Xiang, Im afraid is an aberation as no one has really stepped up since his gold in Athens.

Im not saying that China will not top future olympics, I actually believe in the contrary as Chinese discipline and strong work ethics is unmatched. Its just that having some black dudes makes it a lot easier for the USA to be considerably more competitive

Bronze medal in 50km walk for Si Tianfeng.

Yeah, we make progress everyday. Our 20th Bronze!
. Looking forward to the women's 20km race walk and see how well our girls go!
